I can't believe all these AMAZING reviews. Maybe I missed something, or maybe I'm used to staying in nicer places. This is one time that the TripAdvisor reviewers let me down. The photos on the website, I agree, are really nice. They, and the reviews, are what attracted me to this place. In reality, our room was OK, in good condition, but kind of basic. Not as bright and cheerful as pictured in the photos. No one in the hotel spoke any English, despite our correspondence in that language. So while I don't expect EVERYONE in the world to speak English, I would expect those in the tourist industry to know some basics (like when inquiring about restaurants or what to see in town). And if not in English, then maybe another language. Anyway, this is less of any issue than the place not looking like it did in the photos. Breakfast buffet was very limited--while there were scrambled eggs and sausages and they were in chafing dishes that had candles under them, they weren't lit so the food was room temperature at the warmest. On the upside, there is parking behind the building and the walk to center of town was maybe 7 minutes. Unfortunately we arrived a few days after Christmas when the town was pretty much shut down. I would not recommend visiting during this time--in the summer it's probably a cute town, albeit rather small, but definitely worth a trip when...
Read moreWell, this is my second stay here, and I am quite satisfied for the price I paid.||All the promises that a 3 stars hotel may deliver, were delivered, including a welcoming lady at the entrance, checking me in with a good willing english.||The room was quite acceptable with a note from the past, and remarkably clean and with a good bed: for a long run traveler, a good mattress and bed is very important, and this one didn't disappoint at all. ||The wifi into my room was working very properly; I have also enjoyed the interior decoration.||The dinner stop at the nearby restaurant was quite good too; even here you won't get luxury stuff, but honest and well done food from local tradition.||I had my delightful soup with garlic and bread ("kroutons") and then a salad with meat and cous cous.||Remarkable the waitress, for her kindness, availability and (as a male) her splendid mid age femininity (if a compliment is not yet a crime, please let me do it).||So I am happy, and if I have had to suggest something to the management, I'd say to give a complimentary bottle of natural water inside the rooms, to have a tea or coffee, as the sets and coffe pots are available.||Thank you once again, I will be glad to be here again.||PS: Breakfast OK, approved.||Definitely, this hotel, the restaurant and the Staff deliver quite good value for money and I do...
Read morePleasant scented hotel with friendly staff||||My first impression of this hotel was like visiting a distant aunt. The hotel was full of sweet scent from several scented sachets placed in the reception, corridors and also some in the room. Hotel owner definitely makes a lot of effort to keep the hotel look nice and cosily.||||The staff was really friendly and willing to help. The reception only works till midnight but if you already have a key of your room then it is no problem.||||Breakfast had a wide range of food - from classics like scrambled or sunny-side up eggs, sausages, selection of cheeses, ham / salami to those healthy ones like yoghurt, muesli etc. I did not have any problem to choose something to eat and had no reason to complain.||||The room includes a table with a pair of armchairs, fridge, TV and offers a WIFI internet which had a nice speed and was stable for my work.||||Close to the hotel (few minutes of walk) you will find a big Billa supermarket / grocery and in the same street as the hotel is also some kind of outdoor swimming pool - cannot say more as I visited Mikulov in November :-) From the hotel it takes about 30 minutes walk to reach the Mikulov castle.||||If you arrive by car then they have a parking available in...
