I would like to point to the fact that based on my travel history (3 continents, dozens of cities) the prices are really high! I remember I paid 65$/night in Houston, TX which included the breakfast, and also didn't pay for my late arrival. The fact that, this hotel trying to charge you above the already high costs, and the cost of living in Brno is very much lower than the US counterparts, made me regret even visiting the city! Across all hotels/BB/airbnb etc., I've been to, here in this hotel you have to pay 14 euros if you check-in after 9pm. It gets more sad, since there are barely any direct flight to the city, and most of the time visitors come from Wien airport.
The shower/bath area is rather small, when you turn, you hit the wall, or the door, faucet. There were no clock/alarm in the room, and there was a mini fridge, for which, you must pay for drinking/having anything (not fair in case of water or small snacks, but fair in case of alcoholic beverages). Again in my own experience, aside from beverages/beers, there were always "Free" small snacks or water/coffee in any other hotel, only those cheap BB ask for breakfast expenses.
I am a non-EU resident with long-term permit. When I got to the hotel, the receptionist asked me if I have a Czech visa!!!! and after checking my residence permit and passport for some time, in the end, he gave me simple small paper to fill and sign. (anyone with EU residence permit, can live in another EU member for up to 3 months, without any document or visa, etc.) I never had this issue in ANY other EU country.
I believe this hotel does not worth it overall. I was misguided by the positive reviews. A...
Read moreNeeded somewhere to stay whilst visiting another company on the same street. Staff were very welcoming and spoke perfect English. Breakfast was very impressive for 6 euros. Meat, cheese, sausages, bacon, eggs, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, one morning even offered tiramisu (not that we could stomach it at 7am!!), but there really is plenty of choice. Good walking distance to Brno centre. Staff recommend you jump on the tram which is opposite the hotel but it only took us a brisk 15 minute walk. There is a small shop about 5 minutes away which is very basic but has most things you'd need. The only downside was the heat in our room, we were in 202 which was very clean and modern but had no aircon. We didn't think we'd need it with it being 6 degrees outside but our room was unbearably hot day/night even though our radiators were switched off. If our stay would have been longer we would have had to switch rooms but instead we left the balcony door open and used a small desk fan to get us through. Would definitely consider this hotel again and would really recommend Nika restaurant nearby. Use public transport to get there from the airport, it really is simple. We used city taxis but found out we were overcharged quite considerably hence we returned via tram and bus which only took 30...
Read moreWe have been coming here for the last 5 years to attend the MotoGP in Brno, which sadly has been cancelled this year. Nevertheless, we have decided to come anyway to Brno and above all to our favorite hotel in the whole world (and believe me we have travelled a lot!). You really feel like home, the rooms are wonderful and we have been in a different one every year. They are big, new, with big windows, perfectly furnished and, above all, the cleaning is absolutely spotless, the best we ever seen. Breakfast is served in the beautiful atmosphere of a renewed cellar on the ground floor and you have plenty of choice from savory to sweet (perfect for Italian people 😉). Finally, we want to thank the manager Veronika for the availability and the flexibility shown to us, thank you really much, and Tereza who has been helping us with the booking since the very first time, always kind, always with a smile. You are an example for all the people who work with the public from hospitality to customer service jobs....
