Unfortunately, we had the unfortunate experience of sleeping alone and awaking our selfs surrounded by ants! Indeed, we had a small bag with fries from KFC as we had ( the next day) a very early start, and we wanted to have a bite before we left the room, but to find ants crawling in the middle of your room, it's nasty and also unhygienically. As they don't offer rooms with fridges, we thought that buying something which would last throughout the night would be a good idea, unfortunately it wasn't....
The ants were coming through a hole in the carpet, between the wall and the floor.
Contacted Expo Living we have received only the answer that: "we shouldn't have brought food into the room", but there are no house rules against it... Nobody said that if we bring food in the room, the ants will appear! When you're visiting a new city, you always bring back some food into your room, as it is a part of the visit to eat what the residents eat... As all is made online ( check-in, checkout), there is physically nobody present to discuss your problems. Even the coffee machine was not working.
The towels were cleaned, or at least they smelled clean. We didn't open the TV, and the beads are a bit old, I mean, you can feel that the mattresses are worn down.
The door looked like somebody tried to brake in at some point, and as the room was on the ground floor, the window covers weren't working that good and with the window open (due to lack of air-conditioning) you could hear everyone which was walking on the street and they could even see you.
Sorry, but we didn't had such a bad experience in a very long time: ants, lack of fridge, window covers not working properly, coffee machine not working, lack of personnel on the premises.
I have read the reviews before the reservation was made, and they are quite good, this was the reason why we chose Expo Living, but (for us) it was a very...
Read moreThis is the third time now that I have stayed at Pension Expo Living. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with good @ access, a decent-sized smart TV, a new-looking ensuite bathroom and pleasantly-designed furniture and bedding. Some of their rooms look out to the main street and some of them look out to a leafy courtyard area - I would choose the leafy courtyard area rooms. If you need any assistance, the reception staff are wonderful at solving any issues. We had an issue with the heating on new year's day and a maintenance technician came and solved it within the hour. There is also a shared mini kitchen - coffee and tea-making equipment. The area where the pension is located is both safe and close to the center. It is about a 30-minute walk to Freedom Square and taking the public transport (tram) is also an option. There are places to stay that are more central, but it is just a short walk to the center of Brno. Nearby (5-10 minute walk) there is an Albert supermarket, the Brno brewery and a pharmacy with coffee/pastry shops right by the tram stop. Excellent value-for-money stay and...
Read moreI spent 4 days in Brno, in Penzion Expo living, with my family and our dog and we are extremely satisfied with the accommodation. The room was big enough for all of us (room nr. 8), clean and charmingly decorated. This room faces the inner courtyard from both sides, so it is very quiet, and what was even more important for us since it was over 30 Celsius, the courtyard is full of trees and the room is in the shadow the whole day. We liked that there was a coffee machine, hot water kettle, coffee, tea and fresh water with lemon in the lobby, so we could refresh ourselves any time. We love to walk and we walked to the centre most of the time (it takes 25-30 minutes), but if you're not into walking, you cant take a tram or a bus near the accommodation. The contact with the staff was great, we got information about everything we...
