After a very long day travelling from Prague to Ostrava via several other towns and places of interest it was disappointing to arrive at the hotel at 21:50 to find the restaurant closed on a Friday evening. The other drawback was that although the Reception was opened the lady thre didn't speak English and I certainly couldn't speak any Czech. Eventually though and English speaking assistant came to the Receptionists assistance and we bagan the check-in process. My biggest concern then was that they wanted to keep our Passports to complete the details for the next 20 minutes or so, which I thought was a rather long time to be parted from my Passport. Reluctantly we all agreed to leave the Passports and were given our room keys. The rooms were quite small with a double and single bed in each room, only the single bed was made up. The was a distinct smell of damp in the room albeit I couldn't locate exactly where it was coming from. The air conditioning unit was blowing away making a cool evening like and fridge (Ice box) so I soon turned that off.||||The ensuite was cramped to say the least, my knees actually made contact with the side of the shower unti when I tried to sit on the toilet, I found this to be amusing!||||The towels provided were just a bit bigger than a large postage stamp (whatever they are) so having used the two before going to bed had to use the same damp towels the following morning as the 'heated towel rail' wasn't!!||||We had to miss breakfast the following morning and were told just before we about to depart that if we'd asked they could have made us a packed-lunch each!||||WE had our day out and returned to the hotel by 19:30 hours on the Saturday evening, well here's a surprise the Restaurant was closed - damn. I then tried to order a packed-lunch for Sunday morning as yet again we had an early door departure. I was told it was too late as the Chef had gone home - double damn.||||Sunday morning. to my surprise there were four packed-lunches waiting for us at Reception when we came to cehck-out.||||All in all I suppose it wasn't too bad given it was only 84€50 for the two nights accommodation and the Sunday packed-lunch. Would I stay there again, probably not until they'd done some renovation work on the top floor room...
Read moreI made the booking on a a booking website and then arrived for a 2 night stay. The price was very good as well as the location to all areas of the city from the main station to a short walk or tram ride to the Stodolni Street which is where all the bars ad clubs are. Upon arrival the receptionist was very warm welcoming & friendly. Just remember to bring ID or your passport ideally for when you check-in. My room was really nice & clean with everything i needed however it didn't have a kettle but I was advised that's just for the superior rooms. The price I paid was extremely competitive and reasonable so I cant complain. The mattress was extremely comfortable along with the shower pumping out good hot water. The tv in my room had many channels but from what I recall only 2 were in English. News & music station. The staff were overwhelming friendly and made me feel welcome. They also sold a small range of items from beer to toothpaste which was handy at very reasonable prices. Sadly a map of the city was not available which would of been very handy but as for the city it was relatively easy to navigate on foot. Some staff spoke limited English but regardless I got great customer service from them. I had a meal in he hotels restaurant at a great price and the food like was so nice it bought tears to my eyes. I would definitely stay at this hotel again as the location was great, competitively priced hotel & had everything I wanted and needed with exceptionally friendly staff that I have to give them 10/10 for customer service. The city what little i saw as it was a clubbing weekend was great and I would love to go back to Ostrava and when I do stay at this lovely...
Read more3star hotel entrance is situated from the property back-yard, welcoming reception is on the first floor (no lift). My room was one freshly refurbished with windows situated on the Nadrazni street. Room (single) was equipped with new furniture, especially I loved the wide bed and mattress. Free wifi works without any problems. Spacious step-in shower on the right site from room entrance. Liquid soap and cheap shampoo is provided in re-fill bowls. Luxurious towels (3pcs). Helpful reception organized a box breakfast due to my early departure. Late check-out (01:00 pm) available based on the room occupancy. ||Only negative thing during my stay was early wake up (4am) sound from tram service, however I believe rooms with back-yard oriented windows have no the problem with noisy street traffic. ||Fine restaurant is available at ground floor of the hotel property with entrance situated on the Nadrazni street. ||Hotel is located just two tram stops from Stodolni street (nightlife) and Ostrava center, 3 stops from Ostrava Main railway station. ||Very good value...
