Kampus Palace — Hotel in okres Ostrava-město

The reception stuff was very friendly, you can grab some leaflets/maps about Ostrava city and also there was mini bar when you can buy some water or snacks (very useful considering that many restaurants and shops are closed early). The campus hotel is located next to the theatre just in the city center. Its about 6 minutes walking to the square. There is also a palace restaurant near where you can eat breakfast or just drink coffee (at the reception they inform us that you have 15% discount there). In the room you can find two individual beds, desks and wardrobe. Also you can find 2 towels and one bottle of shower gel (I highly recommend bring your own shampoo and soap because small bottle is not enough for a proper shower :) In the room there is no air conditioning and it gets hot inside (we stayed there in August). For the price a really amazing place to stay in Ostrava! It‘s close to all the main sightseeing places (beware though: There is not much to see. And on the weekend there‘s literally nothing to do. We had to do a daytrip to Prague because the city was so dead.) and bus and trains are also very close. The room was clean and for two people it‘s very spacious. The kitchen area is a bit tiny which can be annoying, if more than one person wants to cook. Also, kitchenware like pans and pots needs to be rented for 20€ but they do provide plates, glasses, cutlery and a cutting board. We broke one glass and the employee very kindly said that it‘s fine and we didn‘t have to replace it. The bathroom is also very big and clean. It is a students home as well as a hotel. Quite modern and fresh everywhere, it seems has to be refurbished not long ago. The rooms are clean, comfort and quiet, you also have a small kitchen corner, microwave, coffee machine. Very fine. Wifi and TV are good functioning. Check in and checkout without problems and friendly service, you can store your luggage if necessary. You get a remote chip, which opens the front door and your room. All in all can be recommended.
