As a party of 5x chaps on a budget we picked this botel. We were a little wary before arriving, but we could not have been more pleased. Reception was good, the rooms/cabins were better than expected, with plenty of hot water and ample storage space for a short stay. Towels were provided, wifi was good. They have several 'hot spots' around the boat. If you can. try and get a riverside room. Lovely big windows to watch river life.||Breakfast was more than adequate, with cereals, cheese, meats, jams, yoghurts etc and plenty of basic hot/cold drinks.||Its a great location, right next to a tram line direct into the city. This is where a typical 72 hour pass was a real bonus.||Locally, a great looking pool across the road with loungers and 3x pools. Be aware that you will need swimming trunks. Bermuda shorts etc are not allowed. Also, just 100 meters from the boat is a great par / beer garden which we had a great time in. Food was good here. ||The boat has a barbecue regular and this was really great and flavoursome, or you could order from a selection on the bar menu.||The bar has a great terrace that you can sit and watch river life. As there are 3x or more rowing clubs close by, late afternoons were fab. A beer in the sun, watching the world go by.||Fellow 'passengers' tended to be 'not young' and we never had any problems noise wise although the cabin was are quite thin, so don't do anything too loudly!!||Reception were also kind enough to organise a taxi for us, and also looked after our luggage until we left.||All in all great...
Read moreLoved the location - easy to reach the town center but sleep in relative peace and quiet. Read more reviews to get a general gist, so I'll just add one disadvantage that management might consider reviewing. The upstairs restaurant has an outdoor terrace that is delightful, but guests are 'discouraged' from using it outside restaurant opening hours. Thing is, cabins are small, no balconies or fully opening windows. The terrace is the only outdoor space to enjoy fresh air and nice views. Blocking it off to guests during the day is unfortunate. Not every guests goes sightseeing from breakfast until 4pm. Some want to sit with a book in the early afternoon and relax, outdoors. The upstairs restaurant is great, the food is excellent and the very enthusiastic dinner waitress works hard to please. If you prefer more low-key service, simply let the lovely lady know. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Particularly perfect if you're after a place to lay your head and full days explorations, at a good price point. Lovely service all round. Would recommend the...
Read moreMost reviews for the botel here are negative however considering the cheap price it’s actually a really good place to stay. ||||Like the rest of the botel the rooms are dated, but considering the reviews on here we were happy; there was a small bit of urine on the toilet seat and a hole in the sheet but bar that it was fine and comfortable for a cheap stop over for a few nights. ||||Breakfast is grim but again for the price (think we paid £9 a night) it’s fine. There was some nice juice/tea and coffee, the actual food is gross with weird meatloaf and stale bread served but if you avoid that and get cereal it’s fine. ||||Location is really good and perfect for sightseeing, there is a tram stop a 5 minute walk away which can get you to the city in 10 mins. This runs all throughout the night. ||||Overall we loved it, staying in a botel is pure banter and even though it was a little bit grotty it made a perfect base to...
