Good food, nice decoration but terrible behavior. We were at the restaurant yesterday for dinner. Our friend wanted to order hot wine. The blonde short haired waitress made a shocked face like it cannot happen. I don't know if she was just trying to be funny but it made our friend so upset, she thought that it was because she looks like a foreigner with brown skin. She said she really liked the atmosphere and food but she won't come again because of the behavior. And the same waitress took her wine before she finished it without asking or saying anything. She just realized that it was gone. We as 6 ladies, ate dinner and drink. There were free tables and noone waiting. However, we were having a chat after we finished eating and we did not make any further orders. The red haired waitress came frusturated and she stared at me in the eye like a psychopath for a long time like I am her worst enemy and said "YOU NEED TO LEAVE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SIT IN A RESTAURANT WITHOUT EATING AND DRINKING. I WILL ASK YOU TO MAKE PAYMENT AND LEAVE IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO ORDER ANYTHING." Like we didn't order anything at all. Her behaviour was too hostile. I am a customer there and I pay for my food and I deserve a respectful service. We all paid for our food and left. I spent 385 CZK for food and a drink. Other girls had paid similar amount. They cannot behave like we are there as beggars. If people are waiting in a queue they can ask politely for us to leave, but there were empty tables and nobody waiting. We cannot come again due to these hostile behaviors. And sadly cannot recommend it to any friend even though I enjoyed the food. Nice representation of Czech Xenophobia, but even though they tried so hard, it was not not enough to ruin our good mood having each others company! You couldn't bring our energy down rude red...
Read moreIt was a long day. You just finished visiting Prague 1 and now you just want to find a near place to eat, then a last walk and finally go to bed.
Well, don't do that.
Take the tram n° 17 or 27, pay the 1€ ticket and wait 25 minutes for the Podolská Vodárna stop. Get down. Cross the road. Enter in this hidden gem.
Congratulations! You'll get to eat in the best pub of Prague!
I'm an italian guy who loves food, and I've stayed in Prague with my girlfriend for a week. We tried 12 different pubs and restaurants all around the city, and I can say that I've never found another place like that.
We ordered: -2 traditional soups (with vegetables, tender beef and short pasta) -a deer's gulash -a boar filet -3 large beers (Pilsner Urquell, obv) -a caramel dessert -2 traditional liquors
I was in awe. It was all exquisitely tasty and well presented. We paid 993,00 CZK. This price is UNBEATABLE in all Prague, especially considering the quality of the food.
Don't be lazy. Go and eat at this unique gem in Prague. You're even near to Vyšehrad, a beautiful fortress that you must visit if you're a tourist.
I can't recomend...
Aboslutely do not recommend visiting this pub. Even though it has good location, but service is just terrible. Beer way too much under the line of 0,5 liter, meal was extremely bad, even the simplest ones from czech cousine. The waiters also very bad. Do...
