When I cannot afford traveling to France for good delicious food, I just visit this restaurant. It is more expensive, than average in Prague, but the food tastes way better. They have good cook, and good ingredients, and altogether allows to consistently deliver great food and I want to visit them again and again. Service is polite and respectful with me, despite my punk-like dress code.
What I have tasted today: Raw Beef Steak with grilled vegetables and pepper sauce. Just amazing. Loved it. Chocolate dessert (raw-dort). Original idea, kind of "moelleux au chocolat sans beurre", but more fresh, closer to "mousse au chocolat". Hibiscus tea. Good, thick tea. Steak hachee d'agneau. I expected something different, but that's just because I did not pay attention to description. They add sarrasin de Tartarie to the steak mixture - that might seem crazy, but is very tasty.

Read moreWe stayed in Prague for one week. Every other highly rated restaurant was 5 star with excellent service. Coming from America, we have seen a few rude waitresses. The waitresses at Podolka were eye opening. As soon as we walked in, the young woman with a lot of tattoos looked at us up and down for a few seconds as if we looked like homeless people. We asked if we could move indoor. We were told no although there are several tables open. So we asked what about those tables. They said they are reserved for a party 2 hours later. At that point l, we decided to leave. Within couple of minutes, we found another great place for dinner, called Rest. The rain helped us with a...

We brought our own cake, discussed the possibility of serving it, and agreed on the fee—no problem. But the real problem was that the waiter didn’t care about the customers. People come there to celebrate, and the main part of any celebration is the service. Unfortunately, the service was awful.
I personally approached the waitress and asked if it was possible to light the candle on the cake. She said, “We don’t do that, we don’t have any candles.” I replied, “We brought our own—it’s attached to the cake box. Could you light it?” She said yes.
And what happened next? They just brought out the cake. No candle. No celebration. Nothing. Well, many thanks.
If you want your special day ruined, consider this place for your celebration. They’ll take care of...
