Hotel Arko — Hotel in Prague

Extremely disappointed with this stay. Hotel Arko looks modern in the photos but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Our room had no toilet paper on arrival. The room was dingy and beyond basic. No drinking water in the room. Beds changed once for our whole stay and we had to request new towels. The wifi was horrendous I used mobile data the entire time which was an additional cost for me. The walls in hotel Arko are like paper - we could hear a man next door coughing up phlegm every morning. Rooms next door were also speaking loudly and drinking till all hours but there was no one on reception we could to speak to. On our last night there was a man in the lobby screaming at the top of his lungs at 4:20. Again, no staff around to deal with this. Lastly, the price is outrageous for what it is. This is not anywhere near Prague city centre and is more like a very bad hostel - it is not worth what we paid for it. The one positive about this hotel is its proximity to the metro. Was attending a fair at the nearby expo center. |I stayed at this hotel on the first night.|On the second night I moved to another hotel just one block over which I found in a much better shape.||I paid €71 for a room with:|-no curtains: see picture. The blue shades do not block the sunlight. Being sensitive to light, I was awake at 6 a.m.|-no sound protection: I could hear people chatting in the hallway all night long.|-no mattress? I’m not quite sure whether I slept on an actual mattress. It was very uncomfortable and I woke up with backaches. |-no bedside lamp.||I found a couple of hair that did not belong to me.||If you travel for work, as of today, I would recommend spending an extra € 10-20 and sleep in another hotel nearby. There’s definitely room for improvement...

Hotel "facilissimo" da trovare....... grazie a due gentilissime signore praghesi che con il loro cellulare hanno contattato la reception dell'hotel e ci hanno permesso di raggiungere la fatiscente struttura difficilmente identificabile perchè incastonata tra due mega palazzoni a vetri su una strada a scorrimento veloce; difficile da trovare anche perchè l'insegna è spenta e la bandiera che sventola è strappata. Alla reception ci riceve chi in precedenza ha risposto al telefono facendoci passare per poco accorte e poco informate sulla location esatta dell'hotel (con la metro NON bisogna assolutamente scendere a Prozec come indicato, ma alla stazione precedente). Fatto il check in veniamo accompagnate in un lungo corridoio buio e spettrale dove manca il bambino in triciclo di Shining..... molto anonimo e datatissimo (quasi vintage o casalingo smesso!) l'arredamento. Entriamo nella nostra camera: pulita, materassi, lenzuoli e federe in ordine, biancheria da bagno idem....... manca la televisione e il phon, ma per il resto nulla da dire (anche se nei giorni successivi del nostro soggiorno la pulizia è stata molto carente e anche i letti non venivano rifatti giornalmente). Per quanto riguarda la colazione a buffet, viene servita in uno stanzone addobbato con teli viola da camera mortuaria e neppure troppo puliti. Il buffet consisteva in wurstel, uova strapazzate, prosciutto, formaggio, salame (decisamente buoni), il pane (fresco il primo giorno, l'avanzo per i due giorni successivi), marmellata (invecchiata come il vino), spremuta, thé e tre diversi tipi di torta (affettati freschi il primo giorno, rimasti intonsi per i tre giorni successivi)..... per altro, torte acquistate al discount li vicino di pessima fattura. Cosa importante: il titolare (in infradito a piedi scalzi) che tanto che facciamo colazione discute ANIMATAMENTE al tavolo vicino con la tizia che avrebbe dovuto servirci la colazione...... è vero che abbiamo speso poco, ma la differenza tra la presentazione dell'hotel su Booking e quanto trovato è VERAMENTE SOSTANZIALE!
