1st⭐ for staff kindness and service interest eg. Extra towels, free tea, coffee and sharing city stories upon request. 2end ⭐ for general hygiene both in the hotel, bedroom and shared bathroom. Also the breakfast was served in the "Marine room" so it was easy to keep distance, the food was served in various containers and kept protected from the flies. (Yes there is a few flies, but it is not a lot, and it is on the country side after all) 😉 3rd ⭐ for the price of rooms, and authentic experience- incl. Cute details of naming the rooms. Breakfast fairly priced for te sortiment abf quality. Tasty and filling enough. 4th ⭐for the location is in close range of shopping, and cathedral, but far enough down the side street, to have quiet surroundings at night. As well having both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
For dinner we had roasted pork belly slices (missing flavour and mostly fat inside😐), spareribs (sweet and meaty👌) fries (very dry😐), baby potatoes(tasty 🤤), coleslaw (boring pre-made?😐), sauce (pretty ok flavor and consistency 👌) = Overpriced for average of okay, but not good, kind of quality. No + or - ⭐ for this as it left us feeling neutral.
Missing 5th star ⭐ as guests were not made aware of polite social aware behavior. So I had to tell other several times to please be quiet during night and morning. Perhaps the TV should not be on the rooms. 😅 And there could at least be placed signs with "PLEASE be QUIET between 10pm-8am". I was kept awake until 2am, and woken up around 6am again. 🥱🥴 Some of the bedroom doors (eg.nr.4) also could use some oil, as it was loudly squeaking - a lot, so less sleep...again...
And in the bathroom, please clean the ventilation shafts, and fix/insulate the shower cabin, as the floor was wet all evening from the shower cabin...
Read moreI phoned the hotel at 14:30 on my day of arrival, as I would not be arriving until shortly after 20:00. I was told that the keys would be left in a locked box, and I was given the code.||When I got to the hotel, although I could open the box, the keys were not there. Another couple who were staying there said the same had happened to them and gave me the contact telephone number of the hotel.||When I called, it was a prerecorded message in Danish, but no one answered.||I was locked out of the hotel with no idea what to do.||Thankfully, there was a lady down the road who knew the owner's phone number. She called her, and it was arranged that someone would bring the key. It would appear that the owner doesn't want to be troubled by guests.||Had I not approached this very kind lady, I would not have had anywhere to stay. ||I have not received any apology so it is obvious that they don't care.||The hotel has a strange smell in the public areas.||Although there is a pub attached, which is also the 'reception' for the hotel, it closes at 15:00, meaning no staff are available after that time if anything goes wrong.||You can't leave your luggage at the hotel if you want to pick it up after 15:00, as there's nobody there.||The breakfast is poor. There is a cold buffet and eggs and bacon kept warm on a single plate over a candle.||Find anywhere else if you want a guarantee that you can get...
Read moreWe booked online to go to the Ribe but when we found where we were staying there was none about and the door was locked. We phoned the number given and was told the key could be collected in the main hotel the other side of Ribe. We had been on motorbikes in torrential rain so had to walk over a mile to the main hotel. The lady who gave us the key was very unfriendly and couldn't be bothered to help us. ||When we walked back to the annex hotel we found a very basic room with a grotty shared bathroom/toilet in corridor. One of the good things about the room were the elctric heaters which we put on to dry our clothes which were soaked through.||The room was very big and accommadted all our motorbike gear. The beds were cofortble but single beds pushed together with a hard wooden surround so no getting up close to my partner.||||We went out for a meal in a nearby restaurant but didn't realise they didn't take card so had to take money out of the cash machine causing me to lose over £10.||||If it's nice friendly staff and cosy rooms you're after in this annex then try somewhere else. It suited our needs as we were so wet through and needed the heaters to dry out. ||The village itself looked lovely. The people in the nearby Italian restaurant couldn't have been nicer. They even put 2 heaters near us to help us dry out. ||We would have explored more but the rain just stopped us...
