The food and wine were really good. However the service has space for improvement. We had to ask twice for an english written menu, which found the waiter obviously funny (?) The soup was really good, however a piece of bread would be nice. We had to ask for water two times, which was then put onto the bill. Read moreVi tog et smut til Ribe for at hygge og shoppe lidt, og da sulten meldte sig, faldt valget på Vægterkælderen. Restauranten er bestemt hyggelig og har charme, men møblerne er noget slidte og kunne godt trænge til en udskiftning. Der var også ret mørkt i lokalet, så det var faktisk svært at læse menukortet – lidt bedre belysning ville gøre meget.
Betjeningen var sød og imødekommende, og vi blev hurtigt budt velkommen. Da vi ikke var voldsomt sultne, valgte vi en let frokost – to gange signaturlaks med brød og et glas tør Riesling til hver.
Laksen smagte fint, men brødet var desværre så tørt, at det nærmest burde være blevet smidt ud. Vinen, som ifølge vinkortet skulle være tør, var det desværre ikke.
Alt i alt blev det en lidt skuffende oplevelse, hvor stemningen og betjeningen trak lidt op, men maden og helhedsindtrykket desværre ikke levede op til...
