Hotel Los Jardines — Hotel in Santiago de los Caballeros

I needed to go to Stgo for biz reasons, and found I just couldn't do the bus trip the same day. There's another hotel I like, but more $$ and outside of city center. So I just googled a hotel close to the place I was doing biz and Los Jardines came up. || Los Jardines was perfect. It's not fancy, not elegant. But it is clean, secure, and centrally located. ||||The staff are FABU!. Generous, kind, and helpful. The room was clean and well-appointed. The shower was GREAT! I'm from the US, so hot water is a big deal for me. || It took a bit to heat up, but, OH YEA. Nice towels. The bath gel is lovely. I did not find the bed comfortable. Would have liked more pillows. I don't have TV in my home, so I really enjoyed watching Red Sox baseball on the TV. ||||The restaurant has ZERO ambiance, but the food is surprisingly good. The service is ....very Dominican. But I have to say: the dessert menu is to die. And I am not a dessert eater. But I did! ||||I met another guest at check-out who told me he & his family have been staying there for 18 years. I will definitely stay again. (I may bring my own pillows.)|||| Breakfast is included. I was not impressed by the bkfst offerings, but the coffee is excellent...

Please don’t use this place. Now they make you pay upfront even. I’ve been a customer since 2018. First of all they don’t pick the phone.||||Why couldn’t they look and find my history and see I was a returning customer? And just let me go to the room to rest and pay in the morning like all hotels?||This is the 3rd time I’ve stayed at this hotel this year, and it’ll be my last one.|||| I came for business at the End of March, May and now.||||The strong smell of a gas leak in the Lobby not only will give you a terrible headache and nausea, it’s an explosion waiting to happen…poor guys who work in the front has to work under such conditions.||||My flight got delay, I came to the hotel at 4:00 am.||They making me pay upfront. An hour later It’s now 5:00 am ||||Their outdated payment machines are broken so they are making use other cards . Still not working… making me wait at 5:am ||||After 17 hours of traveling, waiting in the lobby with toxic fumes, I feel fainting …horrible...

This is my second time in Santiago De Los Caballeros, DR and first time staying at Hotel Los Jardines. I must say it reminds me of the Chateau & Relaise Small Hotels of the World. |The room is quaint but beautifully decorated with a flat screen tv a mini fridge and very nice, clean & updated bathroom. I was a bit apprehensive about booking this hotel at first because its high season currently in DR for tourism and I got a great deal of only $60 for this surprisingly clean, beautiful & comfortable room!! And to top it off...guests are served with free breakfast for staying at hotel! The lobby is small but clean & modern. And the staff are all very friendly and professional!! I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking a budget type because you definitely will not be disappointed!! Only reason I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5....is because I would have liked my room to be a tad bit bigger and lesson the outside traffic noise. But for the price and quality is...
