Pedro Restaurant — Restaurant in Santiago de los Caballeros

We have been coming to Pedro‘s for three years. Typically we come two or three times each time we travel here. That amounts to nine or 10 times a year. On this trip we only went once and we will not go again. The servers were unenthusiastic and unhelpful. I had to ask for a different server because the first one was completely disconnected. The owner/manager ignored us. This was particularly unusual since we were one of two tables in the restaurant and we were the largest table. They were out of the Chardonnay in the menu. They have been out of the Chardonnay for my last seven visits.The substitute house wine was more expensive although I was not told. And not Chardonnay . The food is good but the menu is in need of a refresh. Sorry, Pedro...

I really loved this place the prices are good but the food is AWESOME!!! I have been to some very fine restaurants in my time and have had to return risotto (One of my favorite dishes) because it was either too runny or too stiff! But here it was PERFECT!!! Also, my friend ordered filet medium rare and it came bathed in a red sauce that was delicious and as you know red meat in a red sauce it's easy for the chef to over cook it and hide it in the sauce but this was also PERFECT and fresh!

My only observation is the dishes should have the sauce on the side to better enjoy the cut of meat.

But other than that, if you're looking for a GREAT meal in Santiago, I SUPER...

La comida fue muy mediocre y los precios bastante altos; incluso nuestra empleada cocina mejor, así que el restaurante no tiene ningún interés. Pero lo más grave es que intentaron engañarnos.

En el menú todos los precios estaban marcados sin ninguna mención de “impuesto no incluido”, por lo que, según el artículo 45 de la Ley 358-05 de Protección de los Derechos del Consumidor o Usuario, es totalmente ilegal cobrar impuestos adicionales sobre el precio exhibido.

Y, por supuesto, intentaron cobrárnoslos. Les explicamos amablemente que pensábamos que se trataba de un error, y la camarera nos respondió que sí estaba indicado en el menú que los impuestos no estaban incluidos. Le pedí ver el menú, fue a verificar —o quizá fingió— y al regresar admitió que no estaba indicado, pero dijo que igual teníamos que pagarlos.

Le respondí que eso no era legal y que tenía el texto de la ley en mi teléfono como prueba. Se negó a leerlo, insinuando que igualmente tenía razón y nosotros no. Tuve que leerle el artículo de la ley para demostrar que tenía razón. Finalmente, dijo que consultaría a su superior y volvió con la cuenta por el mismo monto, sin siquiera ofrecer una disculpa.

👉 Conclusión: Un restaurante con comida mediocre, precios abusivos y un trato al cliente totalmente irrespetuoso. No sólo carecen de profesionalismo, sino también de honestidad. No recomiendo este lugar bajo ningún concepto. En un país donde la ley es clara, aprovecharse de los clientes de esta manera demuestra una falta...
