This is a true local gem. I have stayed here now on three different occasions and spend here far over 20 nights total in different rooms.||||The entire staff is very courteous and friendly. The owners of this place are amazing and you may have a chance to meet them and talk to them if you stay long enough.||||Every room I have stayed at is beautiful and the bathrooms are tasteful and clean.||||They expanded their rooms and now they serve the complimentary breakfast from about 6:30 am to 11:00 in the front outside (covered) in the front of the hotel (see pictures). Now they also serve some drinks in the evening and have a limited menu at night. Also Adrian, a local restaurant featuring typical Dominican Food and great tropical drinks is only a 100m walk away. The hotel will also order take out for you for a small charge (about 100 DOP or so).||I recommend tipping the people when there is opportunity. When I am there with my significant other I leave a$2 or 3$ tip for the serving stuff and $5 to make up the room. People in the Dominican Republic make little money and a little tipping goes a long way. If we all tip even just a little their lives are impacted positively. People make many times less than $150 a month. Being kind goes a long way. Patience is also important when receiving room cleaning service. There is little staff for the entire hotel, but they are dedicated. You also receive a generous value compared to other hotels in the area. If you need all the amenities there are typical hotels around, but this place really...

I booked 3 nights at the Hotel Mauad Boutique & Spa from Aug-22 to Aug-25: to resume, the room was very dirty, I had to call the staff twice to have it decently cleaned ( I found hair everywhere on the floor in the bedroom and bathroom), the shower was broken in the first room they gave me and then completely blocked by limestone in the shower holes in the second room. I had to call a third time to have it cleaned. There are NO JACUZZI, NO BAR (the hotel does not serve alcohol at all), NO RESTAURANT (you can a "continental" breakfast but no lunch or dinner). In my room, the telephone was broken all along and despite their four attempts they could not repair it. The food is extremely mediocre but no more than on the rest of the island, but not up to international standards for sure (among which no natural juices, everything has added sugar). The bed are not good as you sink in when you sleep. There is no chest or drawers of any kind in some rooms. The mini-bar is basically two bottles of water. There is NO SPA: the spa consists in a lady that comes massage you in your room. Finally, I didn't dip a toe in the pool because it was dirty and the water was cloudy. ||Despite all of that, I would add that the personel is very helpful and dedicated, smiling and trying to please you at all times, my belief is that they just don't know how to...

I stayed here alone, the hotel was nice but not quite 4* nice. The rooms have no views because the hotel is right between two buildings. My room had a view on the pool, but i couldn't open the blinds as it was on the 1st floot. Luis from the front was particularly helpful. Breakfast was nice.||||One incident stands out thought: ||I arrived on Saturday afternoon, and asked the front desk for the closest office of change. I was told the hotel had a driver that could take me there for free and then drop me off at a restaurant for lunch. The driver, abab, was drinking while driving, and refused to take me to the restaurant after the office of change. Instead, he took me to a monument even though I repeatedly asked him not to and then took me to his house where he asked me for about $80. He kept repeatedly saying that I smelled good (?) And at one point even touched my hair. As a woman travelling alone, this was a really frightening experience. After reporting him and what happened to the front desk upon my return to the hotel, he was still around the next day and I doubt that they did anything about it. If you do stay here, do not use their drivers, just book an uber it will be...

Excellent hotel with amazing customer service. The hotel is new and is located in an excellent area. You can get room service from near by restaurant Adrian Tropical. Also, crossing the streets, you will be able to enjoy the new of the ocean. You can have a walk on El Malecon boulevard which is filled with music, good food, new friends, and the breeze of the Caribbean ocean. Don't forget to visit the old city or Zona Colonial. The colonial zone has a dynamic nightlife. Many places, during day time, are restaurants and at night, bars with dj or live music. The hotel breakfast area is in the back. The setting has an nice view to the pool area. The hotel service is friendly and willing to accommodate their guests as much of possible. All their showers have different functions and are elegant. The rooms have modern settings with air-conditioning and new flat screen TVs. What attracted me the most was the castle design of the building. A castle with a modern look.

This is an awesome Oasis in the middle of busy Santo Domingo! It's owned by a Dominican Family and has all the charm one could possibly imagine. Great, clean and generous rooms with beautiful large bathrooms to make this place a brief home away from home. A Dominican style breakfast is included and is beautiful, tasty, and generous. You can also order Dominican Takeout food from a well-known local restaurant called Adrian. The service charge is only 200 pesos ($4). There is a fridge in every room, and there is also a close by supermarket for anything you could need. There is a courtyard in the back with some outside tables to sit/eat and outdoor furniture with umbrellas to relax by the pool. The side walls are completely green giving this the character of a hideaway. Great place to stay, a little gem. Look at the pictures and you fall in love with it. I have stayed here now three times including a 16 day stay. The hotel has expanded its rooms

Loved staying here. Well sized rooms, excellent bathroom features, very friendly staff, spectacular view...and probably the best of all? The breakfast! My goodness it was phenomenal, I debated extending my stay just to have breakfast there again 😅
