My sister and I stayed overnight here on our way out of DR after an visit to family. My first impression of this place was a quaint hotel stuck in years gone by, but in a very positive way. The service was by far the best part of the hotel. The manager was very helpful, even as he was training a new desk attendant. We got there early and went to do other stuff until time to check in. When we got back, they had our room ready. We had made a mistake in our reservation, asking for 1 bed instead of 2. They made an adjustment quickly and with no complaint. The room was fine and we were very pleased that the air conditioning was up to the task of a hot and humid day. It would have been nice had the bathroom been airconditioned, as well, but the window didn't shut completely so we left the door shut. We slept well. We had asked for sandwiches for the next morning, as we had to leave for the airport well before the serving time of their breakfast. The morning manager not only made us sandwiches to take with us, but also made us breakfast completely unexpectedly. We would go back to this place...
Read moreHotel San Marco surprised me a lot. I booked only 1 night to stay over as I had to do diligences in the capital. When I went into I could see the magnificence of the property, very well cared and maintenance, the gorgeous pool area and garden... wow... it was like to be in a Spa. The room is simple but very clean and everything worked properly. The breakfast is included and it is high level quality. ||The only suggestion I have is they should improve the room service. At night I ordered a sandwich at 7:30pm, requested again at 8:00pm and it was 8:30 pm did not arrived, I had to go out to get some food... which was very uncomfortable as I was alone and had to walk 2 blocks to The Domino restaurant. I would be more easy and safe for me to get a sandwich in my room... Other thing is do not put amenities... only soap.. but not shampoo or body cream...||The rest was perfect perfect perfect... The colonial style and deco is beautiful.|| I recommend this...
Read moreThis is a mid-range hotel located in Santo Domingo. It is in walking distance to two train stations, UASD, McDonalds, Wendy's, A supermarket, and A great Restaurant called Adrian Tropical. The rooms are comfortable, not a lot of fluff, a bed, TV with cable and major US networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN). There is a typical caribbean breakfast of fresh fruit, meat, cheese, omelets, breads, juice coffee and tea. The staff is very hospitable, courteous and great customer service. What makes the hotel less than excellent is that there is very sketchy internet access. It is free internet access, but not always reliable. Also the mattresses are hard. Still I have stayed here 3 times, so I would definitely...
