I stayed here as part of an organised tour but also booked some nights independently. The staff are lovely and friendly, the rooms spacious (although could do with more hooks/places for bathroom storage) and the location is good. It is a short walk to the Metro which is two stops from the Old Town and a 40 minute ride from the airport. We got taxis to the cable car and equator in around 20 and 40 minutes respectively, which the hotel arranged and negotiated the price for so we weren't ripped off. Good value given slightly out of town location. I felt safe in the area. They provided box breakfasts for early starts. Breakfast itself ok although I have nothing to compare it to in Quito (eggs, fruit, some granola and yogurt and toast).

This is a very lovely hotel in Quito, ideally located. It features a beautiful little garden inside, enhancing the ambiance. The breakfast served here is really tasty, adding to the overall experience. I was impressed by how clean and functional everything is. The staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. A special thanks to Patricio, whose professionalism and assertiveness ensure everyone is well taken care of.

Excellent family run hotel that was used during my trip with Intepid. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also speak english which was very helpful. I stayed in 3 different rooms. I found the rooms upstairs a little more updated than the rooms garden level. But it was nice being close to the garden during my first night. It gets cold at night in Quito, so I appreciate the hotel providing blankets. Breakfast was delicious as well.

The hotel is very clean and near the new Metro which is super easy to use and only cost 45 cents (US). The staff is very helpful, especially Patricio who is the heart of the hotel. He is friendly and knows your name very quickly. The breakfast is excellent with eggs, toast, jam, yogurt, coffee, tea, fruit, and lovely juices. The rooms are of adequate size and most are twin beds some have a double and a single to fit a family of three. My only not pro comment would be that the hotel is a little dated but the location close to restaurants, banks, and shopping makes up for that negative point. There is security 24/7 on the property and only authorized persons are admitted. |I would recommend this hotel if you...

The rooms were good to great.. the hotel is the old british embassy so really thick walls and quiet rooms that are very neat and tidy. The location is excellent and close to some decent eateries and the metro for access to the old town. But what really makes this place is the wonderfully staff. Big shout out to Maria, Patricio, Karla and Monica who went out of their way to help make our stay so enjoyably and all with a smile. On our final day they helped so much with phone calls when our flights were cancelled. Bumped into the owners also who helped with a local money transfer, really lovely people. We highly recommend paying the La Cartuja...
