I traveled to Quito in December 2005 due to a family emergency in Ecuador. I had never visited Ecuador before and found Amaranta on the internet. It was the best choice I could have made.|Ramon, the manager, tracked my flight, even when it was delayed by a day and ensured I arrived safely. Anything I asked for they bent over backwards to provide including Ramon providing his personal interpreting skills when I dealt with business at the hotel.|The rooms were extremely clean. They are not elaborate such as a Hilton or Sheraton, but they are spacious, well furnished, and were very well cleaned and kept, and they don't cost nearly as much as those other hotels. I had laundry done while there and it came back folded and hung up in the closet. The food at Serrano's downstairs was terrific and Ramon set up the big screen and provided movies to make a Christmas away from home a little better.|All of the staff were professional, friendly, and I wanted to bring them home with me when done. As a small hotel I got to meet and get to know the other guests and evenings down in Serrano's were nice to chat and relax.|Being in the embassy section of the city, only one block from the U.S. Embassy, and only a block from the police academy, the area of town was very safe, and I felt very safe staying there. There were some small markets nearby to pick up a few souvenirs or some bottled water, cokes, or snacks. Wireless internet access in the business area, assistance with international calls made conducting my business in Quito so much easier.||Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Ramon, thank you for making what could have been a very difficult trip so much better. Your hotel is great and I hope more people discover your little...
Read moreWe negotiated a great rate due to low season and staying a week.||Great location, you can walk to the old city as well as mariscal (bars and touristy area), they are within a 20/10min walk respectively.||The apartments are circa 80's and kept so clean, they come with fridge, microwave, cooktop, great bed and linen, lounge room, fast internet, hot water, cutlery, big windows with great views (we were on level 3).||Oh and a big new flat screen with TV and cable!||The room gets cleaned everyday, not sure if it's normal but they even cleaned our dishes!!!!||We loved our stay here, there is a supremaxi store 10min walk away, it was so nice to be able to cook our own meals when we wanted and they have a restaurant downstairs if you are feeling lazy... We didn't really try it out.||The staff were great so friendly and took care of everything we needed, like laundry, cutlery etc.||Most speak a little English and the girl who is on during the day speaks better English.||This was a great find for us, as we were over the standard, after backpacking for 2 months so nice to be in a little home...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights after findingthe hotel a bit by accident. It is in a great location about 10 mins walk from Plaza Foch and close to a nice park so it is quiet at night but easily accessible. ||The rooms are actually suites - so you get a lounge room and a separate bedroom with cable TV. Beds are comfy, nice linen and shower was high pressure. Breakfast is also included. There is a kitchenette but no cutlery or anything. ||Very fast wifi. Staff were very friendly as well. ||They gave me a discount for staying 3 nights so it was a great little find. For the price I thought it was a good little spot in central Quito. ||If you are there on Sunday there is CycleExpress where they close the center of the city and you can hire bikes and ride the length of the city. Great...
