I have stayed at Tambo Real in my last two visits to Quito, and I have not been disappointed. The people working at the reception are very polite and willing to provide information about the surroundings, and the city. This location is very convenient if you are planning to visit the old part of Quito since it is not far from the “Centro”. You can take a cab from the hotel to the historic sites around the “Centro”. I would not recommend walking from the hotel to the historic part of Quito at night. On Sunday nights the hotel surroundings are desolate mainly because there is a big park in front of the hotel and everything is closed. If you get hungry on a Sunday night and do not want to order room service, you may walk one block from the hotel to two fast food restaurants that are open until late.||Regarding to the hotel itself, the rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are clean. It is important to note that the halls are very quiet and you can get a good night of sleep. I do not want to write many details about the hotel facilities because it is better to check the pictures I have attached.||I would recommend this hotel. ||||Enjoy your...
Read moreThere was a whole lot of us from the US who visited this hotel for a medical trip. Breakfast was always promising with fruits, eggs and more. Dinner included soup, main course and dessert. The room was tidied every day and towels replaced. There is no A/C and you could not brush your teeth with the water. No flushing your toilet paper which is normal in this country. ||I had one incident which included my bolt would not lock. They refused to fix it. The chain lock was backwards which they eventually fixed. My roommate was able to get a key without giving her name or any ID. ||The view was incredible and the bed was comfy. Traffic was extremely loud because people like to use there horns. Even though we lived on the 9th floor, traffic sounds were still very well heard. The sun shone brightly in the morning. ||Overall, this hotel was average. Meal service was good, but I was not impressed with them refusing to fix something as simple as a bolt. The front desk greeted us all kindly in the morning with a “buenas Dias”. If you are used to luxury, i would not recommend this place for you, but it was a good place to lay out...
Read moreThe hotel staff is as friendly as it gets. The service was excellent at all times. ||Nevertheless, the rooms are very old and needs urgent remodeling. The bathroom needs new equipments. The shower and tiles are dirty and the faucets barely worked properly.||Although the rooms are old, the rooms were very clean.||Be aware that THERE IS NO A/C in the rooms. Although the weather in Quito is quite nice, there were times in the afternoon where the room temperature was not as nice and needed an a/c. There is a small window that may be open in order to cool the room but sometimes the room temperature was above 74 degrees.||On the other hand, our room was in the fourth floor with a city view and was not sound proof. All street and traffic noises were heard like if we were outside at all times.||The breakfast buffet was very limited with a small...
