Kumbha Mela Lodge — Hotel in Mindo

There is nothing more delicious than sleeping under the shelter of a sustained rain in a place as beautiful as Mindo. But if you are given a cabin with a brass roof, you will not be able to sleep with the horrendous noise that the rain causes when it hits the metal. The next morning we verified that most of the cabins had the same type of roof. You can imagine how we woke up the next day.|It is promoted by saying that the inn has internet, however, in the 5 rooms we rented there was not the slightest signal. We had to leave the cabins and look for a specific place where there was a signal to connect and when we did, the bandwidth was too low.|The bathrooms. In the showers there is no place to put soap, shampo, etc. We had to place them on the floor. Even though the soap dispensers in the sink were full, there was no way to use them as they were damaged. I checked this in 3 of the 5 rented rooms. The other two I did not review.|The skirting boards in the rooms that should dry and absorb excess moisture from the shoes since the area is very humid and there is a lot of rain, are made of plastic so they do not dry anything. When entering the rooms, the floor gets wet, making the room uncomfortable.|I find it incredible that there is no one to control this type of tourist services at the state level. I feel, frankly, cheated.|If you plan to go to Mindo, one of the most beautiful places in Ecuador, I suggest you do not take...

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel is very well maintained and is very tranquil. It is a few steps away from the Mindo River or a short walk to the butterfly sanctuary. It features a natural water pool and small lagoon. The staff, especially the administrator is very friendly. I had a major problem at this hotel one night and they rectified the problem and tried to make it right, which is rare in Ecuador. I will definitely come back for that...

Kleber and his team really know how to look after their guest and made us feel very welcome. The service was outstanding.The hotel was clean, beautiful & and a perfect location - a 10 walk to the main street at the same time closer to the forrest and rivers giving g a feeling of sanctuary with its surrounding garden, lake & swimming pool.
