I’m really shocked, normally hotels get better by time and they gain more and more experience in how to deal with their guests .. But here in the Golden Jewel it’s all the way around !! I have visited the hotel last year same time and it was such a good time , cooperative staff and nice overall experience , which made me eager to repeat it again this year , And it was the worst decision so far ! Checked in today at 2 pm , everyone was extra rude starting from the gate guard , security man and even the receptionist when I complained from their attitude to him , he was even more rude as if we are in competition who will be the biggest ruder !! Just awhile ago , we had a problem in our TV , we called the front desk and after 5 times calling , they answered finally and guess what was the sentence he started the call with ?? ( Front ) !!! Exactly he answered the call by saying only one word ( Front) !! I said excuse me !! He said it again ( Front ) Even the basic customers service manners which are to say some sort of greetings , introduce yourself and to ask how you can help the client are summarized in one word for the talented receptionist ( Front ) !!!! I Answered him back (Good Evening) he didn’t even reply my Salut but even repeated his word (Front) again , I informed him that the tv is not working may you send someone to fix it plz , He answered in a sarcastic way ( what do you mean? ) I explained to him that it’s not responding to any clicks he said ( ok) and hang up the phone on my face !! That’s all is happening in our 1st few hours , let’s see how it goes in the coming few days !! Such a lost , to a place that beautiful and amazing location to be ruined by unprofessional incompetent customer service and poorly...

In this hotel You Are on your OWN!!!!

Service is almost non existence.!!!

Pros:

This hotel has a nice sea view and good central location in Alexandria..

Cons:

I am a female solo traveller and been travelling a lot in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Nothe Middle.  I have been in tens of hotels, resorts, airbnb but was never tempted to write a negative review like the one for this hotel.  I wish that others avoid being trapped in a similar experience like mine.

As I was touring several places in Egypt, I chose this hotel in Alexandria as the photos looked nice and the location near the center was convenient.  The price is relatively high for Egypt (£88) per night, including breakfast.

The drama starts at the check-in as it took ages, the rooms were not clean, the white towels were almost black.  I tried to call reception, room service, house keeping, but no one was interested to pick up the phone.

The next morning I went down for breakfast and had to wait for 45 minutes for an omelette with bread.  The bread arrived cold out of the freezer.  They said my omelette was late because I asked for a special one!!! Here I will leave it to NO Comment.

Unluckily I did not meet any friendly or smiling face from the staff. I will never return here and glad that my experience lasted only 2 days.In this hotel, you are...

I was there with my family for the first week of December. Overall it is less than average experience especially when compared to price.|Good points are the location, being first line on the beach, and allowing getting delivery from outside the hotel.||But many cons on the other hand.||1- they didn’t allow us to walk on the beach sand! How on earth an hotel says it has a beach and then does not allow guests to walk on it! At least state that clearly before doing reservations.|2- they didn’t allow us to do fishing despite no published statement regarding that.|3- they didn’t even allow us to take my fishing tools to my room! And the security insisted it should stay in my car.|4- the bellmen do not work before 8 am. Which means if you will do a check out before 8 am, no one to move your luggage from your room. I had to move 13 bag myself in three rounds for more than 80 m and two floors.|5- they don’t have an elevator! So you have to use the stairs if you are in the second floor, no sliders for wheel chairs!|6- the hotel has no free kids area. No gym. No spa. Add to this beach is not allowed. So you have nothing to do after all.||Again, it is less than average experience, and you can get better ones with...

This hotel is horrible and doesn’t deserve even a 2-star rating. The overall condition of the property is extremely poor, and the service was worse. Staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, particularly the front desk assistant manager, Sayed Mohamed. He was rude, dishonest, and clearly not trained in proper guest relations. During our stay, it rained one night and the room floor flooded. Instead of resolving the issue, the hotel responded by shutting off the AC for the entire building, leaving all guests to suffer in the heat. The breakfast area was dirty and chaotic, with very little attention to hygiene or organization. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place entirely. It was a disgusting and stressful experience from start to finish.

I gave it a second go.. It is just as expected despite being owned by armed forces, my expectations weren't actually so high up for it but actually.. I enjoyed it very much no kidding. Kind waiters and waitresses, very polite receptionists and charming and the rooms while they're not of course like Four Seasons or Hilton but really I was thrilled and surprised and there was a wedding party yesterday and me thinking I'm not gonna sleep well tonight but turns out I was wrong. 😅 I think the people of room service need to pay attention to small details such as dust under marble tables they need more attention to details just that. That's it.
