When I booked the hotel on Booking, I was asked when I will arrive in Cairo, which I gave the details. I arrive in the airport, and no one was there.
The location is deep within a compound with maze like roads, and nothing around within walking distance. Trying to order a taxi or an Uber from this location proved difficult as it’s complicated for drivers to navigate through.
While the double bedroom is massive and has an incredible balcony, the listing boasted a garden view and a city view, neither of which were to be seen. The shower/bath that was listed was just a shower, and a leaky one at that.
The advert listed several things that were in the room that were nowhere to be seen. A mini bar is listed, but it’s empty and keeps nothing cool. The room stank of smoke when we arrived, and the electrical sockets are intermittent, meaning it’s very difficult to get a good charge on your phone.
The gym and spa that were listed on the site were a joke. One machine for a gym that looked more like a torture device and a couple of non functioning cardio machines and when asked about the sauna and steam room, I was just told “broken”, while the dust on the handles would beg the question if they were ever functional in the first place.
The breakfast was included which was nice, but the plates were often quite dirty…
While the staff are friendly, they’re not exactly helpful… Asking for recommendations of tourist attractions, asking for basic amenities like SIM cards, which you need while you stay in Egypt, or even asking where’s a nice restaurant, you’re greeted with a shoulder shrug. There’s not even a brochure stand for recommendations. They don’t take card either, so be prepared for that.
I really don’t like complaining, I try to look for the positives of any holiday experience, but to prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did, I would strongly urge you look somewhere else. I don’t know who this place is for, but it’s certainly not...
Read moreDespite having breakfast included in our booking, the lady at the reception insisted we pay an additional 545 Egyptian pounds. She was rude and unprofessional. We had already paid for early check-in on the day of arrival but did not consume any meals that day since we were out for meetings. From the next morning onward, we simply had the breakfast that was clearly part of our package. Yet, at checkout, we were suddenly told to pay extra.
To add to this, we had requested a king bed, but since only twin beds were available, we accepted the room. Shockingly, the receptionist even claimed we must pay extra for the twin beds—something completely unreasonable. This is the hotel’s issue, not the guests’.
Such irresponsible and uneducated behavior is unacceptable. This place leaves a very poor impression, and I would strongly advise against staying here. I have attached the screenshot of the booking for reference and additional payment that was asked of me to make! Will be reporting this to the...
Read moreWorst experience ever. Someone started calling the hotel phone at 1 in the night (of course waking me up and I didn't answer). Then a guy started knocking on the door yelling in Arabic. At first I thought maybe there was a fire or something but I didn't want to open the door feeling unsafe and not being dressed since they woke me up. I told them to leave and was very long awake after that feeling unsafe. When I asked the reception about it the next day they first said it was housekeeping and at this hotel that's normal in the middle of the night. After that they changed the story saying it were children but this definitely wasn't a childs voice that I heard and how would they know to call me first? I've been in many hotels in Egypt and have never felt this unsafe so would recommend any place over this one.
The only good thing that I can say about it is that the hotel chef from breakfast and the guard were very nice.
In top is almost impossible to find, location in Google Maps...
