Hotel itself could do with a fair amount of updating, especially the pool area near reception. The rooms were okay and nothing to get too excited about and I mean the refurbished ones. The food was just as I would expect from all inclusive however I did have a bad tummy for the whole two week period I was there. Greek restaurant on the beach is great and the food was very nice, thankfully saving me from the same old all-inclusive. Two weeks of this would be a lot to take.
Beach was beautiful. The bar at the end of the curved beach had a stunning view but really could have done with some nice new seating. And a bit of spruce up.
As on previous trips to Egypt generally cannot fault the staff they are very accommodating and helpful.
Never had an issue getting a sun lounger on any of the beaches but you do need to be up early if you want one near the pools, if you want one here you need to be out by the latest of 8.30am.
I was very aware when travelling here that this was sold as a party hotel however I would’ve said the majority of guests were aged 40 and over. It did say that there would be a party atmosphere however not anywhere did I find it stated that this was going to be a major issue if you want to go to sleep earlier than the general 1 am when the noise stopped? The noise is extremely bad if you are in blocks 5, 6, 7 and 8, when they have the beach party, the music was horrific not very mainstream. Make sure you get a red flag if you are sunbathing on the majority of the beach areas as to be hassled by at least 12 different people on the first day when all you want to do is relax is a bit much.
The fish restaurant is in a beautiful location however this is heavily up sold with one of the menus which was a set menu being around €60 per person. They even charge you for the water that’s free 50m away?
I hardly was approached by any of the entertainment team however when I was I had a 25-year-old boy tell me that I looked like I was in my late 60s which I don’t. I’m actually only 49 and would love to party with the rest of the people in my age group for whom there was no entertainment other than said horrific music.
I was invited on one occasion to the white party but I was told I wouldn’t be able to go unless I was wearing white. I was told this at 9:45 and the party starts at 10 pm. My honest opinion of this hotel is the location as in the beach etc is beautiful, however a real poor refurbishment job has been done on this hotel. You can even see the dilapidated old hotel that is in between block six and eight and actually if you go round to it from the front it’s like something you would probably watch on YouTube of a abandoned old hotel. One of the things that made me laugh the most was the fact that the old furniture on some of the balconies and in one of the bar areas has simply had a coat of white paint But these chairs are clearly from the late 70s or early 80s, actually, if I’m honest, the hotel seems to heavily rely on heavy coats of paint used as a form of refurbishment. On an upside most of the shops on site are run by friendly and helpful Staff , And if you want to get yourself some beautiful jewellery Or a nice genuine fake watch the gentleman in this shop was very kind and genuine. And on a sidenote if you need a pharmacy which we did for the whole two weeks head out of the hotel and turn left and the lady in there speaks perfect English and was very helpful in dealing with an influx of people who have sickness and diarrhoea. Overall I enjoyed my holiday this was mostly due to the beauty of the beach area and nice view from the bar and the very helpful and friendly staff, which I’ve always found on...
Read moreA brilliant resort, fantastic staff and service however DJ needs to turn down the base.|Spent 11 nights at the resort and was extremely impressed by the rooms, the resort itself and especially the staff.|We stayed in block 8 which was close to the community beach and football pitch so we had noise from there and also the loud music from the Latitude pool/bar. It does spoil your relaxing time as the heavy Beat from the DJ is excessive, you can feel it vibrate in your room. However, this doesn't take away from a really good holiday.|The staff,|They are all very attentive, chatty, friendly and can't do enough for you. We encountered so many members of the team that took time to chat to us and made sure we were enjoying our stay. In particular Taher, Ahmed, Said, Ali, Mohammed Ali (so he said, lol) and DJ Khalid. |The restaurants|All excellent, no issues with the choice of food at all, all to a good standard however the stand out was the Egyptian Restaurant, the food was amazing. Large portion though so beware when ordering. All the restaurants are part of the all inclusive apart from the fish restaurant at the beach where they charge extra, this didn't seem to be busy at all as it should really be part of the all inclusive experience.|The rooms|We had a treble trouble room with garden view, it was well presented, a bit shabby with small areas that should have been tidied up, i.e. areas around sockets and light, wonky hair dryer fitting, again, nothing to complain about, just an observation. As said out room was right next to the public football pitches and beach so you heard the shouting and the referee whistle up to midnight.|The DJ/music|Too much base, plays some really good tunes but spoils it by the hard thumping base. We had really great nights of the entertainment by the belly dancer, the group, and the clowns however once the DJ started afterwards the hard beat started and generally people started to drift away. They say it's a party resort, however the party starts at 10pm until 1 am and it's a heavy Beat and base you'll experience, if that's what you like, then you'll love this resort. |Overall|A great time was had, very relaxing, felt well looked after by all the staff and they only thing I'll finish is that as we checked out we were informed that we were due a Bill for drinks from the lobby bar. 11 dollars. We obviously denied buying these drinks and when they showed me the signature, you need to sign for things that are out with the time period for the all inclusive or if you buy something that's not included in the all inclusive, it definitely wasn't my signature and also the bill was dated 8 days before our arrival!? We still haven't had an explanation, the manager that was investigated didn't come back to tell us what had happened and why? We left a bit perturbed.|Not to end on a negative, as we are genuine people and we are always honest with our reviews so if you want a relaxing holiday, with excellent service and food, then enjoy a dance with a heavy Beat during the day and then after 10 at night. Then Meraki resort is the one for you. Enjoy |PS thanks once again to Ahmed and Said on the lobby bar, very good service, good chat and always very friendly...
Read moreMeraki We spent ten days here and it was a great holiday overall.
When booking you will have access to five restaurants for most rooms. Utopia restaurant will be available if you book the private pool suites with Felucca restaurant being an additional add-on service located on the beach (they do have a fish evening at their main restaurant once a week). The quality of food we found was best at Utopia, but it was a slower service as staffed by fewer people.
We would also recommend getting on the padel courts outside the hotel, which is part of the white hills complex. This can be booked for free at the White Hills reception or just rock up and play if there is an attendant at the little toilet area.
Pros Cleanliness of the whole resort was great with Mahmoud keeping the room clean and stocked up with bottled water everyday.
Staff all were super friendly and whilst seemingly overworked, they were an asset to the complex and essentially make the holiday much more enjoyable. The majority of holiday goers here were speakers in Russian, Arabic or English. But you can sometimes get lost in translation speaking English, especially when ordering food and drink.
Lifeguards and Euphoria bar were fantastic looking after us with drinks and making sure we had everything around the top pool. (Towels, cleaning our sunglasses, etc). The ‘party pool’ is louder so we decided to predominantly stay at the quieter top pool. Big shout out to Ali Mahmoud (lifeguard) and Ahmed Sami and Mohamed Skite (rollerblading with drinks to us).
Cons Food service has been hit and miss throughout our stay and could do with refinement. There are plenty of choice with it being food to order rather than a buffet, however we have had orders being missed food coming out at different times (mains coming out with/before starters), and some of our party getting unwell likely due to the food. However it was a good standard, not the best food ever but it did the job. I would say the breakfast was poor and decided to miss this after the first three visits. (Especially after one occasion of uncooked hash browns and multiple non-runny egg). We did share this with the feedback team and we got to use the Utopia restaurant which was a nice touch and showing that they listen to feedback.
Parties, games and music is very repetitive. The parties have the same music each evening more or less and are pretty lack lustre. The foam pool party was the most disappointing with little foam in the pool and yoga balls to keep people entertained. More of the action seems to be out of the pool which defeats the point. Games are ok but when they have Velocity bar with plenty of activities (old pool table, ping pong, darts, air hockey, etc) they probably should use them to their advantage. They do have waterpolo, volleyball and some other games throughout the day.
You also have a lot of people coming up to you asking for your views on how everything is going. We got asked if you want beauty treatments, massages and scuba diving everyday if you’re lying at the pool. The feedback taken by the management is hopefully useful to resolve the little...
