Upon arrival we were surrounded by 5 Egyptian men who were smoking telling me that the room was no good and if I paid 35 Euros, they would change my room. As two single women you can imagine how intimated we felt. The room was awful - smoke alarm wires were everywhere, broken glass in the door, socket surround missing, shower curtain mouldy and hanging off. My daughter found a socket to charge her phone, yet her phone wouldn't charge as she took the plug out of the socket the whole item came out of the casing - the socket was not even wired in. We went for supper and was hounded by two waiters to buy the 'special menu’, I said no yet they continued to ask for 2 days. Assad, the first waiter then said I required shoes to swim in the sea and that they could be purchased from the shop. I assumed that the shop was within the hotel to my alarm he started taking me outside the hotel and again due to feeling intimidated and somewhat scared I returned inside the hotel saying I do not require them. I went to reception and complained about the room we were moved to a better room, and everything seemed fine. ||At breakfast Assad to go to the shop with him again I refused. At lunch we sat by the English man as protection he then asked the head waiter to keep Assad away from us. However, the issues do not end there, we had no hot water for three days and had to call for Maintenance three times. More alarming there was a Russian prostitute gang with a Madam and Pimp clearly selling the wares of women they were quite open that the charge was $120 for 4 women for an hour. The Madam walked around the hotel, sometimes hand in hand with the manager so it was clear that the hotel knew exactly what was happening. ||The restaurant was poor, and the offering of food was very inconsistent - they served battered fish 3 days after the initial food was served. Rice was served at every session, even I got tired of eating rice. Food was also repurposed; breakfast pancakes were served at lunch with meat and made into a wrap. Evening meals there were disagreements with the staff that were 'played out' in front of the guests, if the staff didn't have the disagreements there were disagreements between staff and guests. What is advertised on the website does not exist at the hotel: Wi-fi - none for 3 days as they had not paid the bill the reception was open about this, Supermarket, Shop, Gym, Poolside snack bar, Hairdressing salon, Beauty salon (fees may apply), Solarium, Entertainment Programme, Table Tennis, Disco not opened at all. These were charged extra that the booking did not state this: - Massage, Pool bar. No 'loveholidays' representation at the hotel and nothing on the notice boards.||The only good thing about this hotel was the Maître d - Mahfouz who ensured that me and my daughter were not bothered during meals. The representative from Masters Travel on the transfer back to the airport that the hotel is no good as police officers stay there'. I implore loveholidays to send someone there as customer to look at the hotel in it's true light not from the outdated photographs that they show on...
Read moreLet’s get started … we just arrived less than 24 hours ago but we are completely excited!! Yes - the rooms we booked - with sea view - are a bit aged … but the rooms next to the big pool(s) they look more modern. Everyone in here made us feel welcome or in the surroundings of friend … Did the guys at the check in understand me wrong when I asked for two separate beds - yeah but they gave us a bigger room … me and my daughter will survive it … lol :-) We came in at 2:15 am and got asked if we want to eat something … how thoughtful !! Breakfast was super … omelet, breads, warm and cold stuff - all you need … and please everyone complaining about the food - please remember how much you paid !!! Plus - it’s different - you are not at home at present. We are directly at the beach area - really nice and yeah - as I said, the rooms could need a facelift one day, but will do for us just fine. I have travelled a lot in the world from North & South America, Europe and tons of places in Asia - and in good and less good hotels. And I do like it here. I believe it is how YOU shout out into the world - that’s the way it comes back … Btw - I told the restaurant boss it’s my birthday as it really is and he is doing a small event tonight … I keep you guys updated … we are happy we booked it here
Update 1: it’s Friday - day 6 - and we had a wonderful time here - we never got bored of the food - breakfast and lunch and dinner - I recommend taking the All Inclusive if you can - we get everything we want if it is available … I ask for it - I get it. Mike the Restaurant Manager does a great job - good friend … we get a reserved sign on the best table every day looks like VIP. The staff has always been smiling and happy to help … on the trip to Luxor we saw one guy getting angry but the 3 young travelers really disrespected him and others (teahouse) … so you live your life nice - nice comes back … Hotel has a travel agency inside - nice guy - Mohamed - we booked the Super-Safari with him - have to do experience … buggy, ATV, Camel, desert zoo, tea, dinner and dance at the Bedouin’s area 45 mins away. We booked Cairo and Luxor with a company just outside Feisal from Nasha - good guy … we got back late like 1 am from Luxor - he personally picked us up from the bus station (I just asked him to teach me how much to pay/bargain with the taxi driver). And he saw my daughter was hungry so he invited us to Pizzaburger and tea … how nice of him !! Today is trip to Cairo … we changed it from bus to private car … it’ll be faster and more...
