Luxor Hotel Hurghada — Hotel in Red Sea

I had a great stay at Luxor Hotel. I stayed for 5 nights while spending time diving and was very satisfied with everything. ||The hotel is located in El Dahar which is in the old town, so there is little of touristic interest nearby, although there is a family beach along the waterfront a 10 minute walk away which charges 50 LE entry, around £2 GBP (most beaches in the area charge admission). There is also a cool English bar (Egyptian version of English rather, so actually very Egyptian…) called Dabbie’s Cafe/Old School close by, as well as “Hurghada City Center” about quarter of an hour’s walk - a large shopping mall with coffee bars, shops and a large cinema. Funny Divers next door to the hotel also offers well priced diving excursions which was very convenient. ||For the price, the experience was great at the Luxor. The reception is stylish and comfortable, the staff are extremely kind and attentive (they often offered me mint tea), and my room was basic but had everything - a comfortable double bed, furniture and a private bathroom. The AC was good although did become a bit strong at times and didn’t seem adjustable, so I made good use of the bed blanket! There is also a nice roof terrace with sun loungers to use (albeit old rusty ones with paint which sticks to you…). I was able to order an airport shuttle through the hotel also for 200 LE.||If splitting hairs, it was occasionally annoying only having WiFi in reception, but it did mean I got to see the staff and their adorable hotel kitten! The bathroom could’ve been cleaner also, and once or twice the attention from the staff was a little overwhelming.||All in all, a great hotel and I would definitely recommend to everyone, as long as you don’t mind being a 15 minute drive from the Marina and new town where all the action is (Hint: Uber is crazy cheap!)....

I am giving this hotel 2 stars because firstly we come in the hotel in the morning with 2 luggage and 2 handbags we check in and everything went great until these 2 receptionist were on the reception and treated us like absolute animals they kept saying "is this your son Are you sure it is your son?" Like what do you mean am I sure is he my son of course he is you clearly can see in the papers I gave you IDs and stuff but no he kept making extra checks on my id and papers and stuff and apparently wanted paper to proof he's my son? And after making us wait for 1 whole hour in the lobby he finally got off our back and gave us our keys he clicked on the elevator door for us then the elevator came didn't even open the elevator door for us even tho we had 4 BAGS and told us to go into the elevator we asked what room it is and which story he ignored us and told us "you will see it in the corner" there were many corners in each story and we don't even know which story so we kept asking him he kept telling us 3, 4,2 like tell us the right story then at the end he told us the story we gotta go to and after that we finally go to our room what do I see, dirty bedsheets, dirty blankets and a GUM on my bed I was so disgusted and there was no such thing as restaurant nor free breakfast there isn't even a breakfast but there was this old guy in the reception I believe he is the owner he was kind to us unlike the other 2 receptionist they were mixed looking guys and I believe they were twins after all I do not recommend this After getting that bad service from...

Rooms are horrible the AC is behind the curtains it's either you close the curtains or turn on AC the Tv is very small and hanged in the top of the ceiling the staff are rude they wanted to bring me the police because they suspect I'm having visits in my room! No privacy at all no views balcony is in the triple rooms only the standard rooms only have small window in each room they forced me to pay full amount when i checked in then threatening me to call the police so actually they took my money and stole price of 2 nights which i had to leave after the threatens, when i called booking they replied that they don't want to cancel the rest of the stay and it's me who wants to get visits! So they kick you out and refuse to refund you! They are super rude! No towels in the rooms no shampoo just tiny soap! No room service! Super super rude people

Notes : 1. When i checked in i had my fiance with me and we got out of the car together the hotel receptionist didn't mention that there is any problems (my fiance booked a single room for himself too) we were in separate rooms.

Of course we were going out together and staff saw us several time together OUTSIDE OF THE HOTEL, they don't have security cameras in the floors whoever one night out of nowhere they said we have a video that your fiancee is visiting you i said its a lie and asked to see it they refused and changed there words that if 1 security guy saw my fiance so it's like a video to them.

Bottom line is they were kicking us out without saying that clearly and they just wanted to...
