Take the word of an expat living in Dahab.
My mother and brother live in Dahab, and have frequented the Ganet Sinai restaurant area often, ordering food at the table and accessing the sea from the beach, enjoying their time there with other expat friends. On this occasion, my family had just ordered lunch at the Restaurant, and my two brothers and I laid out towels on the sand in an empty space closest to the sea and sat on the beach (we knew that you had to rent the sunbeds, so we did not go near them), while our parents remained seated at the Restaurant table. A man wearing no identifying uniform or name tag came to tell us we had to get up and leave or pay to stay sitting there. My brother speaks fluent Arabic, having lived in Cairo, and asked him who he was and where was this rule that we had to pay to simply sit on the beach, given we were paying guests of the Restaurant. Therefore this man, who we later discovered to be a "beach boy" named Mohammed, walked my brother to the reception, rudly saying "Don't you speak Arabic to me" and "You talk too much". We did not have an issue with there being a fee, it was the manner in which we were told to get up and leave by Mohammed, despite being clients of the resort, that deeply shocked us. The reception simply made excuses for Mohammed's behaviour, and did not acknowledge the two e-mails I later sent them simply asking for an apology.
Think twice about deciding to stay here or visit their restaurant; despite there being very pleasant employees such as the restaurant staff, the way this episode was handled says a lot with regards to customer care, in English, Arabic, or any other language.
Don't ruin you stay in wonderful Dahab by choosing the...

I recently stayed at Ganet Sinai Hotel from October 7th to October 11th, 2024, and what should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a nightmare on the evening of October 10th.
While I was hanging my clothes on the rack in front of the garden, where a dinner party was happening, I was harassed by two members of the hotel staff. They made inappropriate gestures toward my clothes, exchanged offensive comments, and laughed. One of them, Ahmed Galal, was particularly involved.
I immediately went to the reception to report this incident and spoke with the Front Office Manager, Ashraf. His response was shockingly dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing or taking action, he seemed to defend the behavior of the staff, and, to my disbelief, admitted to harassing me as well. I felt unsafe and completely unsupported by the management.
In addition to this, I was charged twice by mistake at reception. They told me the money would be refunded within 48 hours, but if not, I should call Ashraf again—the same manager who was not supportive at all.
Furthermore, I stayed in room 106, and my friends were in room 334. They noticed that the housekeeping staff did not replace the towels. Instead, they merely rearranged the same used towels and presented them as if they were fresh, which is completely unhygienic.
This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in Dahab, and I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to stay away for their own safety...
