A Complete Disappointment – Far From a 5-Star Experience
We stayed at this resort as part of our honeymoon in Dahab, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve ever had in Egypt—and that includes some 3-star transit hotels.
From the moment we arrived, it was one issue after another. Our first room had a clogged shower that leaked and flooded the bathroom. We were told it would be fixed while we were at the beach, but we returned four hours later to find it in the exact same condition. After several calls, someone finally came, spent two minutes inside, left muddy boot prints throughout the room—and the problem remained unresolved.
We were then told we would be moved to a new room the next morning at 8 AM. Since we had an excursion booked for 8:45, we stressed the importance of being on time. Despite reminders, no one came. At 8:40, we had to carry our own bags to reception to finally be relocated—without even seeing the new room.
Upon returning from our trip, we discovered the new room had the exact same shower issue—still flooding, still clogged, still with hair from the previous guest. Our travel agency intervened, and we were offered yet another room change. Shockingly, the only options were either two double beds or an “upgraded” room that we were expected to pay extra for—just to get a functioning shower and a single bed for a newlywed couple. After much back and forth, we were moved to a supposedly upgraded room, which was essentially the same with a hammock added. The shower finally worked—small relief after days of inconvenience.
That night, we returned from dinner to find our key card no longer working. We had to walk across the entire resort to get it fixed before finally ending the day.
The next day, room service completely mishandled our order when my wife ordered in English. They even sent only one set of cutlery for two people.
Then came breakfast. We arrived at 6:40 AM and were told omelettes were unavailable until 7, only to see the chef preparing them for what appeared to be VIP guests or friends while we were denied the same service. If a service is closed, it should be closed for everyone.
We did speak with the hotel manager, who was kind and apologetic. She offered a free upgrade for a future visit—but no compensation for the stress and time lost. She did promise us breakfast boxes with specific food requests for our early airport transfer.
On the day of checkout at 4:30 AM, there were no breakfast boxes ready. The receptionist couldn’t find the bill for the incorrect room service order. I paid the charge without knowing if it was corrected. When the box finally arrived, we realized on our way to the airport that none of the promised items were included.
Even in the final moments, the hotel found a way to disappoint. I have not included everything given the length limit of this review, but there was more to be said.
I rarely write negative reviews, especially knowing the impact they can have on tourism, but in this case, it felt absolutely necessary. The grounds may be beautiful, and the beach may be nice—but don’t let that fool you. This resort is far from a 5-star experience. Save yourself the stress and...

The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the view.
Food: -1/10 Staff Interactions: 0/10 Rooms: 3/10 Value for Money: 2/10 View: 10/10 Beach: 7.7/10 (due to trash in the water)
If you don’t mind being surrounded by loud Egyptian families, this is the place for you. The food is the worst I've had in Egypt. Skip the hotel's dining options and head to the boardwalk "El Mamsha" for much better food, even if it costs a bit more.
Detailed Review
This hotel’s strategy seems to be making money by being unclear and unhelpful. Here are the issues we faced and the excuses we were given:
Worst Food in Egypt: When we checked in, we upgraded to include dinner, knowing we had breakfast and lunch included. However, the next day, staff persistently interrupted us, claiming lunch wasn’t included. This behavior was insulting. The food resembled an overcooked buffet, recycled repeatedly. The manager claimed this quality was standard for nearby hotels, but that was not our experience.
Cash Misuse: My husband paid for a beach drink in cash, but the waiter kept the money and charged the drink to our room.
Reception Communication: Dealing with reception was frustrating, especially regarding payments. They made everything unnecessarily complicated, leading to confusion about charges. The only exception was a polite front desk staff member, Mohammed Saied, who was helpful but had difficulty communicating if you don’t speak Arabic.
Trash in the Water: Although the beach is beautiful, trash was often left behind by guests, even with nearby trash cans. We tried to clean up as much as we could.
Recommendation: Only come here if you’re okay with potential scams and poor service. The view is stunning, but that’s the only redeeming quality. For everything else,...
