I’ve just returned from a 7-night stay with my mum, and I can honestly say this hotel is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. This was our first trip to Egypt, and the hotel made it truly unforgettable. The entire hotel is beautifully presented, spotless and very well cared for.||Rooms|Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom and comfortable beds. I loved that there was plenty of wardrobe space with lots of hangers (perfect for someone like me who likes to unpack everything!). Another highlight might sound simple, but the shower pressure was fantastic- such a bonus when you’re washing your hair every day. The minibar comes stocked with drinks and snacks (extra charge) but we requested it be emptied so we could use it for our own items, and this was done straight away without any fuss.||A special thank you goes to Mohammed, who looked after our room daily. He always ensured we had fresh towels, topped up everything we needed, and kept the room spotless. His towel art was such a lovely touch and something we looked forward to getting back to each day to see what animal/object would welcome us next. ||Dining|The two buffet restaurants offered a huge and mixed variety with something for everyone, meat dishes, veggie dishes, fresh salads, fruits, desserts- the list goes on. I enjoy trying new foods and was impressed with the quality of everything I ate. We also appreciated the late breakfast option with a lighter menu if you missed the main breakfast service. Because on holiday sometimes you want a little lie in!||The beach bar was also fab. We especially enjoyed the pizzas and fresh salads. We also dined at the Italian à la carte, which was a lovely setting, with lots of delicious options. I’ve heard good things about the Egyptian restaurant too, but we didn’t manage to get into this one during our stay. We were a little late trying to book! We were quite happy with the buffet restaurant, but I’m sure if we asked the reception staff we may have been accommodated somewhere. ||Evenings at the Bordolino bar were lovely, with a great atmosphere and attentive service. A huge thanks to Ahmed, who went above and beyond always making sure our glasses were full and even checking in with us during the day at the beach. He’s a real credit to the hotel.||Entertainment|Evening entertainment included singers and dancers, with a weekly schedule provided at check-in. While evening shows aren’t usually my thing, my mum really enjoyed them. The daytime activities, like Zumba, yoga, and games, looked fun, but again not really our thing but if that’s something you enjoy during your holiday, you won’t be disappointed. The entertainment team were always full of energy and friendliness.||Pools & Beach|The only slight downside was the limited number of sunbeds around the pool, which were often reserved early in the morning. On the day we managed to get poolside, I had to be up at 6:30am to secure beds. That said, there were always plenty of sunbeds available at the beach, which we actually preferred, the sea breeze was a welcome relief from the heat! ||Location|The location is excellent, with a very short transfer from the airport. The hotel is directly opposite the Old Town and just a short walk from the stunning mosque. It’s also a great base for water sports and boat trips.||Overall|The real highlight of this hotel is its staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. Their attentiveness and hospitality made the whole experience feel like true luxury.||Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our holiday one to remember. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we...
Read moreThis hotel definitely made our trip 100x better than myself and my partner expected. Immediately from the get go, we were greeted with friendly and warm staff and a drink on arrival. As we arrived late in the evening, the hotel provided a platter of fruits, bread, meat and cheese waiting for us in the room as we had missed dinner.
We were in room 2217 which was a ground floor superior room with a garden view. We were facing the arena and could only see the sea when we left the terrace but as we weren’t in our room much, we weren’t too bothered about this. Our room cleaner Mohammed was amazing, on random days, we would come back to towel animals and other designs in the room which we were very impressed by. The bed was a queen size and was extremely comfortable!!
During the day, around the pool is quieter than on the beach. The entertainment team come around and say good morning but will not bother you unless you want to join in with the activities they provide. I personally preferred this as you have the option to chill out or take part. The top pool did have music playing on only some of the days.
Food wise - there is lots of variety that suits everyone. There is a lot of different cuisines served and each day there is something different. Myself and my partner preferred using La Coupole Buffet due to it being bigger and having a wider choice of food than the Blue Marine Buffet. At lunch, the beach bar was definitely our favourite, the food is served rather than a buffet but you can choose as many dishes as you like. Choices include - fish and chips, burger, hotdog, pizza etc.
The evening entertainment, I believe, really depends on the person. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment as there is a lot of variety. It starts at around 20:30 with either a live singer or a cuban bang playing by the top pool, then at 21:00, there is an act in the arena (some were better than others) and at around 21:30/ 21:40, the live singer/ band will begin playing again until 22.30. One thing that I didn’t like as much was having to move from the top pool to the arena as you lose your seat and may not be able to find another one after the arena act. I would prefer the arena act starting earlier on and the live singer/ band starting after so you’re not constantly getting up and down. When we were there, a lot of people were getting up and dancing when the live singers/ band were playing which made the experience enjoyable. At around 22:30, there will be something on in the Borsalino Pub (next to the Blue Marine Buffet) which is hosted by the entertainment team. Depending on the day, they do bingo, music quiz, karaoke, movie quiz etc. This is a good laugh and good if you want to do something after the entertainment at the top pool is finished. They also stream the football at the pub.
Finally, the entertainment team were absolutely brilliant! they were always full of energy and talkative.
I want to give a special thanks to the following people who made our holiday that extra special: Hana Fawzy, Ahmed Shour, Mohammed Ali and Ahmed Mohammed from La Coupole Buffet. These staff members went above and beyond by providing exceptional service and never failing to make us smile and laugh.
We will 100%...
Read moreThis was my first stay at the hotel, though my parents have been twice before and absolutely loved it. They’d spoken so highly of it that they wanted to bring me along this time — but unfortunately, we all left feeling disappointed. It’s clear that the standards have fallen significantly since their earlier visits.||The Stay||When we arrived, we were given rooms located close to a loud generator from a neighbouring resort, and the noise was unbearable. We couldn’t move until after the first night, so none of us slept properly. The rooms we moved to later in the week were quieter during the day but had very loud music playing until around 3am from another nearby resort, which made it difficult to rest.||Our room cards stopped working every day, meaning a five-minute walk to reception each time to get them reset — frustrating and easily avoidable.||Dining Experience||The main restaurant was chaotic and disappointing. It felt more like a school cafeteria than a resort restaurant, with guests queuing outside at 7pm, no clear order, and no staff managing the process. Finding a seat was stressful, and many guests were quite rude — pushing in and showing little courtesy — with no one stepping in to manage it.||The variety and quantity of food were both good, but the layout was confusing, with dishes placed at random (fish next to chicken next to rice and potatoes) instead of being grouped logically.||The dress code has also noticeably slipped. On my parents’ previous visits, trousers were required for dinner, but now people were turning up in swim shorts, flip-flops, and the same vest for several days in a row — it really took away from the sense of quality.||Facilities & General Areas| • The pool and sea were pleasant, and snorkelling for $10 off the coast was excellent value.| • The gym was adequate for a short stay.| • The beds were uncomfortable, and along with the external noise, it made for several restless nights.| • The rugs in the rooms were poor quality, curling up and posing a tripping hazard.| • The fire alarm was hanging off the ceiling, which didn’t inspire confidence.||Entertainment & À La Carte||The entertainment was fairly average, though it seems a new team has recently started, so hopefully it improves over time. On a positive note, the Italian à la carte restaurant was excellent, though we were disappointed to be told guests can only dine there once per week. The restaurant didn’t appear busy (and certainly wasn’t on our visit), though I can’t say how it was on other nights.||Overall Impression||While some issues — like noise from neighbouring resorts — are outside the hotel’s control, there are far too many small, easily fixable issues that collectively have a big impact. None of them are major on their own, but together they point to a lack of management oversight and attention to detail.||It feels like a large, corporate-run hotel where the day-to-day staff genuinely care and work very hard, but management presence is minimal.||It’s a shame, as this place clearly has potential — and my parents’ previous visits prove it can be much better. But as it stands, unless there’s a noticeable improvement in standards and organisation, I...
