The rooms are ugly; the photos on the travel agency websites show luxury rooms, but in reality, it’s a total countryside cheap look.| 2. Many guests complained about broken air conditioners and no fridges. This didn’t affect us, but if you leave the bathroom door open, the whole room reeks of sewage.| 3. Huge issues with cleaning. In short, the cleaning is poor quality — dust and clumps on the floor weren’t cleaned even after we requested it at reception. Since the staff has no vacuum cleaner, they just smear the dirt around with rags.| 4. THE STAFF IS A DISASTER. At check-in, the reception explained nothing, shoved the bracelets into our hands (didn’t even fasten them), and generally acted with a vibe of “we’re busy, go away already.” At reception, there’s an employee named Mustafa (if I’m not mistaken — here’s the description: works only in the evenings, around 40+ years old, speaks Russian fluently). He’s the pinnacle of a person who absolutely hates guests and people in general. When we were late by 30 minutes for our (paid) late checkout — I’ll explain the reasons later — Mr. Mustafa sent a cleaner to remind us to leave, and meanwhile kept calling the room phone and yelling at me (no hello or goodbye) “come on, come on.” When returning the key card, he SCOLDED me :))) Given all the vacation troubles, I tried to smooth things over for myself and asked for a discount on the late checkout service (since it costs $40 for two — crazy, right?). After getting a 50% discount, they asked me to leave a good review. When I went to the girl responsible for guest feedback, I told her about all the problems, and she basically reminded me that this is the cheapest hotel on the coast. Come on! Since when does cheapness justify such rudeness? (I don’t agree; I paid 140,000 rubles for the trip!)|The girl offered me to visit the restaurant at 7 p.m., and I agreed. She also informed me that the hotel is trying to restore its former five-star glory. So I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but sorry — the last day just boiled me over.|We came to the restaurant not at 7, but at 7:30. Why? Because we were busy arguing with Mustafa at reception, and also because every day I was cleaning up plastic waste from the hotel’s beach area that was ending up in the sea. They only clean the area where most tourists are; where there are fewer, either there’s no cleaning or it’s poorly done.|So, arriving late at the restaurant (and yes, I don’t see anything wrong with that — I’m on vacation, I’m chilling), I politely informed the waiter in English that we had booked a table under such-and-such a name. The older waiter replied to me in Russian, “What time is it?” — “7:30” — “Well, then leave, we take guests at 7.” The tone was, to put it mildly, unpleasant.| 5. As for the food — there were issues. The potatoes were always undercooked / half-fried / raw, the rice was oversalted, etc. But toward the end of the vacation, something suddenly changed, and it became much better.| 6. I visited Siva Sharm Resort again this summer, and it’s still just as amazing — if not better. What truly stood out this time was the incredible friendliness and generosity of the staff. From reception to the pool bar, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and cared for.
The location remains super convenient — just minutes from the airport — yet the resort is peaceful and relaxing. The diving center, pools, and spa are still top-notch, and the all-inclusive food and drinks never disappoint.
It’s rare to find a place that keeps up such high standards, but Siva Sharm does it effortlessly. Can’t wait to come back again!
