Yes, it is very cheap. 10usd for a double room single use. I guess you might say you get what you pay for. But I actually got much better places to stay for more or less the same amount of money in other places in El Salvador. The location is great, right in the centre of Ataco, and the guy at the reception very friendly. But that’s it about good things. The hostel is quite rundown and basic. Not like on the photos on the booking site. Not too clean. Sheets looked like someone has already slept in them (found someone’s hair). Or it could be dogs and a cat that roam around freely and even jump on empty beds and sofas. The swimming pool isn’t a place where you would like to cool yourself. Found a cat drinking from it and quite possibly doing other staff while not looking. |Only one toilet and shower per hostel and not too clean. Cold water only of course. Read moreRene is really friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. There is a kitchen you can use as well as space to sit both inside and inside. However, there is only one toilet and shower available for guests and they're combined. This could be a problem if the place is busy, as no one can use the one toilet if someone else is taking a shower. Additionally, you have to walk through the shower space to get to the toilet, so everyone is walking through the shower with their shoes on.
I think it's the cheapest place to stay in Ataco, and given that lots of the other inexpensive places are closed on weekdays, this might be your only option if you're on a budget. It's not bad, but the toilet/shower arrangement...
