I initially only booked 3 nights because of the mixed reviews, but my 3 night stay turned into an 11 night stay because Kerubel and the entire staff was so kind accommodating. My late night check-in was easy. The next morning when I went down to get some introductory information for Addis Kerubel showed extreme hospitality and was very personable. He offered me breakfast even though I had missed breakfast by about 30 minutes. He also gave me good information on where to get my SIM card and how to stay safe around the city. I was in one of the larger rooms. I had a comfortable work desk, two chairs and a small table. The wardrobe had plenty shelves to unpack and the room also had a refrigerator. The hot water was consistent and the water pressure in the shower was strong. I had several meals at the hotel because I was mostly in my room working and the food was consistently really good and very reasonably priced. Things to note: 1. If you need airport transfer on arrival make sure you speak to someone and confirm. I booked last minute so I didn’t have a lot of time to arrange the shuttle pick up. On the 6th I called and didn’t get an answer so I sent a message thru Expedia about needing shuttle pickup at 12:15am on the 8th. When I landed and called I was told the shuttle had to be pre-arranged and that they didn’t have anybody to pick me up. I took a taxi because I read in another review that the ride should have been 150-200 Birr. I was over charged 400 Birr so be sure to confirm taxi rates before you ride. 2. There is no lift but there was someone available to carry my luggage to my 3rd floor room when I arrived and to bring my luggage down for my departure. 3. If you are sensitive to noise there is the constant running of machinery at the shop next door from about 9am – 5pm. I am sensitive to noise but it wasn’t that bad if I had the window closed. 4. There is no air conditioning or heat, but I didn’t find this to be a problem. During the day the temps were about 75 degrees and the room stayed comfortable. At night the temps dipped to the 50’s but the bedding was plenty to keep me warm. 5. The power outages that people speak of in other reviews are city wide so you will experience this no matter what hotel you stay at. They didn’t last too long.

By far the best hotel we stayed at in Addis Ababa We were traveling as backpackers and the prices for a couple at guest houses or hostels are quite high. (for a queen size room minimum 30$) for 20$ more we got great room, western looking. with a great pressure hot water shower, Wifi in the room, Fridge and breakfast included.. and above all that free/complimentary airport pickup and ride back. thought the staff's english is not the best, the service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. very recommended

Great location close to the bustling southern part of Addis. Burger restaurant, Pizzeria and rooftop bar just next door! Approx. 10 minutes drive to the airport. Attentive staff, good accommodation for good rates compared with others in Addis. Good to know: loud steel workshop in the same street, so head out early. No elevator. Book breakfast after checking what's available.

The hotel rooms are clean. Bathrooms are clean and the shower has good hot water. The beds are comfortable and you can get a good nights sleep. Wifi is not great but I had few problems watching YouTube and Netflix. The televisión had several English channels. The location is ok but not close to the LRT or any other public transport. The morning breakfast does not make much sense as there are things you would expect to be available warm that are cold. It is a little thing I am sure they will improve with time. My advice is to get there when breakfast is first made available at 6am to get it warm. Another thought about the location. In that area I always got a friendly vibe from the people. I walked a lot to the LRT which is a great way to get around the city. The helpfulness of all the people there make is an enjoyable experience. Every little thing from getting taken to and from the airport, all the advice on how to get around, all the detailed explanations for everything from where to get a SIM card for internet to what food to eat. Personally I was made to feel like I was a valued customer and that is not something to be taken for granted. If this is your first time in Addis or a frequent visitor this is a good value for your money. I will stay there again on...

We wouldn't recommend the hotel as we had a terrible experience all the way apart from when the manager took the matters into his own hands. The staff is absolutely unfriendly: when we checked in we were barely told where our room was, we had to carry the luggage all the way to the third floor (which is alright but you wouldn't expect that from a 3 star hotel). The room didn't have towels, paper toilet and the room door wouldn't close and open properly. We had to ask several times for the staff to move us to another room, after they had a few laughs they finally moved us to another one. In the morning they have a poor breakfast buffet thus we asked for eggs for breakfast. When they arrived uncooked and we requested to have them cooked longer the waiter raised his eyes and was rude to us. Finally when we requested cabs, the reception arranged us rides that 2 times out of three ended up terribly. 2 didn't know their way so we had to direct them around, 2 surcharged us, and the cherry on the cake : one had a cockroach on the passenger seats and bumped his car. You would expect from a hotel to have minimum customer service, friendly staff and reliable recommendation in terms of transportation. We were supposed to stay 6 days, we immediately changed hotel...
