Based on previous reviews I booked this hotel only to be extremely disappointed. The only reason I have awarded 2 stars and not 1 is because the staff are friendly. Room was booked well in advance but the staff couldn't find the booking on arrival. We were not met at the airport despite 2 phone calls and a follow up e. Mail. Room was small with no kettle fridge or safe. After checking in we went to the bar and asked what juice they had and were told none. And so we left the hotel to get fruit juice in a nearby cafe. We then asked for soup off of the dinner menu this was inedible and made largely of oil. Breakfast was better being served in the bar. The hotel itself is fairly modern and clean but located down a dirt track off of Ethiopia China street and even the yellow tai drier didn't know wher to find it. Read moreOne of the great things about the Kersay Hotel is the friendly hospitality and the staff. It was my first time in Africa (visiting from the UK) so I was a bit nervous but the Kersay Hotel were great. They arranged trips for us around Addis (for free!) took us out to restaurants in the evening and gave us a lot of local knowledge. ||The rooms were large and clean with a good hot shower. Ours had a balcony with a view of the city plus a TV with some English speaking channels.||One night we went for a walk and got lost - we called The Kersay and they came to pick us up! ||There was plenty of time to relax in the hotel - a great bar with cheap drinks (until late) and good food. ||I am keeping in touch with many of the staff as they looked after us so well, whilst giving us the support and freedom to explore on our own too.|Special thanks to Kidi, Asnakew and...
Read moreThe location is good close to the main road and very close to the Addis Ababa International Airport. The rooms are decent but absence of a table makes working a bit difficult. The staff except at the reception are ignorant of English language and communication is a nightmare. The restaurant offers only Arabic food and with very limited options. Being forced to eat refined flour based kubz in the Injera country is not nice. There is no breakfast buffet and the irrespective of what is ordered, we end up eating stuff made of refined flour. The tariff at ETB 1000...
