Since the restaurant was asking what could be improved regarding the food, I will write a bit more. We had a seafood platter to share, the amount of food was enough for us two. It comes with some starters: soup (was ok), smoked mussels with bread soaked in butter (this feels too oily for me, I had one piece of bread and immediately regretted it), waffle (flavourless and I don't understand why it is part of the set, as I feel like it doesn't really fit). Then the seafood platter itself, there are 7 different types of seafood so it does look good at first glance, but there's only half of a lobster, 2 langoustines and 3 crayfish in it, and the quantity of langoustines or crayfish was not mentioned in the menu from my memory, the rest in the platter was just fried squid rings, mussels, smoked shrimps and baby octopus. Also, I do think the seafood was not fresh or good enough, the quality of the seafood itself can be improved. Based on above mentioned reasons, price wise I think 100+ eur was too much for this kind of platter. Of course the restaurant needs to make profit, but at least could you please provide us a satisfying dinner? I would say it's not easy to make 'below average' level seafood but this one did disappointed us a bit. The service was good though, I have no complaint against anything else...

Very nice place wirh excellent food and service.
I came here with my friend on a Sunday and ordered the Salmon Soup, Crustacean Soup, Mushroom and Cod. The bill is relatively higher-priced, around 40-50 euros per person.
Our soups came relatively quick, about 14 minutes after we palced the order. The soup was excellent. Rich, creamy, excellent. Well worth the money.
The mains took a much longer time. We ordered at around 8 and the Mushrooms came at about 9, the Cod took slightlt longer, at around 9.10. I was slightly disappointed with how long it took them, but it was well worth the wait. The Cod for me was particullarly excellent, one of the best prepared meals I have had in Helsinki. Unfortunately, due to the wait time, we would have to forgo some of our other night plans.
The service was excellent and understanding. They operated extremely well and polite. They were also very understanding of our pressed time. Very well done.
I strongly recommend this place if you have the luxuary of time. But if you are looking to get a fast meal, you are better of going to...
Read moreThe restaurant makes an effort to elevate the dishes that they serve, although the dishes still fall short of great and you would get better value elsewhere as you can get more delicious dishes at the same price.
I got the Menu Merimakasiini, the salmon and fennel appetiser was just alright, although I do like the plating and the various ways the salmon was cooked.
The lobster soup, on the other hand, was more a tomato soup with a hint of lobster. This was my favorite dish although I wouldn’t call it a great one. Both starters cost €14 on their own but I don’t think they are worth that much individually.
The Finnish cod was aright, with the cod well-cooked and flavorful. This was a decent dish but it didn’t really stand out.
Finally, the dessert just didn’t make sense with the Dark Chocolate Panna Cotta coming out quite flavorless.
Of all the restaurants I had on my short visit to Helsinki, this might be the only one I wouldn’t recommend. The dishes were alright, but nothing really made...
