Had a fantastic experience here on my second night in Helsinki. My waiter was perfectly polite, attentive and efficient, while all three courses delivered were of the excellent quality and size. The creamy salmon soup is as good as you will find, with a healthy amount of fish, served with warm bread. The scampi pasta I chose was close to perfection for a restaurant main, with a great balance of perfectly cooked scampi, a generous amount of pasta, with the creamy yet well spiced sauce. The crème brulee smooth and well flavoured, with a satisfactory but not excellent crunch to the top layer, possibly not helped by the amount of water sitting on it from the compote. The prices of the drinks seems a little absurd, especially as an Englishman seeing a bottle of ordinary English cider for €14.50. The non-alcoholic Shiraz I chose was poor, although as this was my first time trying non-alcoholic wine I shall reserve judgement as maybe they are all this unpleasant. As for the comments here on the prices of the food; I really can't agree with the comments suggesting that this is unreasonably expensive. You must have some sort of sense of perspective when discussing such things. This is a restaurant inside a four-star hotel on the seafront(-ish) of a Nordic capital city. If you are expecting low prices and huge portions, then the error is yours. The price:quality of food here is as you would expect in most other northern European capitals. The setting and decor are very pleasant, comfortable sofas/chairs and a good atmosphere. Separately, the breakfast buffet is enormous with more choice than you could comprehend, with very friendly staff in the mornings too. When next I return to Helsinki, I will undoubtedly stay in this hotel and dine in this...
Read moreA decent restaurant in an upscale hotel. As it can be expected, the prices match the star-rating of the hotel. In my experience, the food was delicious and the bill was the only thing that left a bad taste in the mouth. The staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. The service was prompt and efficient. While it mainly caters to the hotel clientele, it seems that the restaurant gets some traffic from those exploring the nearby harbor area. Still, if you are not staying in the hotel, there are more interesting and less expensive options in...
Read moreWent to the restaurant yesterday 21.6. with my friend. Although we had to wait a bit for service, we were informed about it right when we walked in, so it wasn’t an issue. I asked for something in finnish, and they recommended a salmon soup it was a great choice and tasted amazing. For the main course, I had prawn pasta, which was also recommended by the staff. Big thanks to the young blonde waitress who served us, she was very kind and friendly. She also told us about the Radisson Rewards , and we signed up and got 10% off,...
