Recommended by local friends, we chose to stay at this hotel for four nights. From the moment you arrive, you do virtually enter Lapland and feel as close as you can get to nature in a building. The sense of place is phenomenal and very well balanced throughout the whole hotel and recreational spaces in the hotel. Every area in the hotel is a scene on its own, the vibe is just excellent and gives you this very welcome feeling.
One of the reasons to chose this hotel is definitely the breakfast for which is very known. Beautifully set breakfast restaurant with different types of Nordic buffets, smoothies, fresh juices, and an egg station with excellent scrambled eggs. You can truly taste the local produce, its freshness, and the hotel's commitment to pamper your tastebuds with Nordic flavors. There are plenty of healthy, gluten, and allergy-free options for all. If you are a salmon lover, this is the place to taste different varieties of prepared salmon, absolutely divine! Last but not least, the coffee gives you the kick you need in the morning to start your day strong!
The staff is super friendly, helpful, and is a tribute to Nordic hospitality, a pure joy on its own to see people that like to please you while working.
The rooms are cozy, the beds are very comfortable, and the pillows are perfect, all geared to give you proper night rest you need. Some lacking details would enhance the room comfort and ultimately improve the customer experience. No coffee machine in the room No bathrobes in the rooms, although a sauna is available in the hotel. Closet space is not sufficient. No desk available to sit down and work from your room. The minibar was inadequately equipped for such a hotel.
All in all, the hotel gives you a great Nordic experience. It is definitely worth a visit when you are visiting...
Read moreLapland Hotel bulevardi is a 4-star hotel located in the middle of Helsinki. I went last summer with my family, and I have to point out the super comfortable rooms and the amazing food. The hotel facilities are brand new, the staff is super friendly, and the decor is quite special with reindeer antlers and reindeer skins.
On the lower floor you can find the gym and the spa. Going up to the first floor you will find two restaurants, one for breakfast and another one for lunch and dinner. On the upper floors you can access to the rooms which are distributed into seven different floors. Everything very well decorated and very careful down to the smallest detail.
On the breakfast restaurant, you will get a great variety of food, passing through the characteristic red fruits of Finland, to British pancakes. And on dinner and lunch one, you can choose from lots of typical Finnish food like reindeer steak.
The rooms are excellent, and they have a nice size, around 35m2. A very distinctive part is the sauna, as each room haves one made out of pine wood. Rooms are also equipped with super comfortable King beds and a on suite bathroom. The decor is quite special as you can find reindeer antlers over the bed.
The hotel staff are extremely friendly, and make you feel better than home. When we arrived, they offered to carry our bags to the room. That was a very nice touch on his part, that made us feel super special.
It is not the cheapest hotel in Helsinki, but we felt that the cost was reasonable, and it was good value for money. The hotel was quite modern, very cosy and super comfortable. If we ever com back to Helsinki, we will return to this hotel...
Read moreBeen many times in other cities and was always nothing but excellent. This time not all perfect. A room with a miniature sauna as such is a great idea. The sauna taking 40 minutes to heat feels a bit too much. Clean room, nice bed – if you like a very hard bed – with two different sizes of pillows. Excellent sound proofing in rooms. Details well-thought out in the room, e.g. ability to adjust lightning from one switch with 4 different settings or hearing tv in the bathroom. Totally overpriced water and soft-drinks at 6,5 eur / bottle and the bathrobes not soft and comfortable at all, but perhaps tailormade to suit the Lapland theme. Authentic reindeer fur everywhere, not for people with allergies. Dogs allowed widely in the hotel which may be positive to some and not to others. Parking places for e-cars – good. Perfect location. But even with all the positives, this luxory category room was just a room and the breakfast was just a breakfast. Big variety of glutein free products in the breakfast, but then again waiting for an omelette for 20 minutes is way too long time. No hot chocolate which I personally found irritating and some social media gurus were allowed to film during the busiest time of the breakfast, obstructing the flow in the small breakfast area. Sunday brunch until 2 pm, again very positive and the lingonberry porrage was well-made. So yes, very good ideas and execution, but was suprised to see that there is some variation in the service quality and execution depending...
