Sokos Hotel Wiklund offers an excellent location right in the heart of the beautiful city of Turku. We arrived by car, and the hotel shares a convenient underground parking garage with the shopping center located directly beneath it. Driving into the garage was simple and straightforward.||At first, we were a little confused about how to reach the hotel reception, as the route from the parking area involves walking through the shopping center. However, we found our way without too much trouble.||The hotel itself, as well as our Standard King room, was very clean and well-maintained. One interesting and somewhat unusual feature was the glass walls of the bathroom — a detail we hadn’t encountered before and which left us with mixed feelings.||The bed was soft and comfortable, with two types of pillows available, which was a nice touch. There was also a small refrigerator in the room, perfect for storing your own snacks or drinks.||Breakfast was varied and plentiful, and we didn’t feel like anything was missing from the selection.||One of the highlights of our stay was the Walo Rooftop Bar located on the hotel’s rooftop. It offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view over Turku — a perfect spot to unwind and take in the city from above.||I would definitely recommend Hotel Wiklund if you're looking for a quality hotel with a fantastic location right next to Turku’s main...
Read moreSo many good things to say.
I stayed here this past week, arriving late Monday evening and leaving Friday morning.
Slight issue is that the first thing I did on the Tuesday morning was slip, dislocate my ankle and break my leg in 4 places. Not ideal, and I should point out that I did not do this in the hotel.
After returning from hospital later that day, the hotel staff were absolutely fantastic. They got me a wheelchair, helped me get around the hotel, came to collect me from my room, put a chair in my shower room, called for all kinds of transport for me and generally were incredibly supportive.
The next day following my surgery I came to my room and there was a small cuddly toy on the bed, with bandages on its legs, a lovely note and some fresh fruit and drinks waiting for me in the fridge.
Many many thanks go out to all those ladies who worked at the reception desk who really did make an awful experience so much better.
Aside that, the food in the hotel restaurant is really very good, they have a nice selection of beers and drinks (which I definitely needed), breakfast was well set out and had a nice variety of food, and my room was excellent. You couldn't ask for a better location either.
Overall fantastic, and again, so many...
Read moreThe hotel is in the very centre, the market square in front of the hotel. Wal to the river and shops and bars and restaurans is 5min max. The room we had was a bit dated but clean and bigger than usual rooms. The bathroom could use some update but we were ok. The windows do not open at all so all we had was aircon so we did miss the fresh air and the aircon air felt a bit stuffy. The rooftop bar service friday night felt like the 2 bartenders would have preferred we hadnt arrived there. They were so uninterested that i almost felt bad for them. If the hotel would want they could turn this to the bar of Turku if they would get some decent bartenders. Breakfast was ok and there was enough food, the hotel was fully booked but the breakfast was not too crowded. Overall experience was good, i...
