The main hall has some interesting instruments like a combination cello-piano and a harpsichord you can play yourself, plus an interactive display of how harpsichord, clavier and piano mechanisms work. But the best part is the smaller hall with the life of Sibelius, which gave a really good sense of the man's wit and talent. Most importantly, you can listen to a selection of recordings if (like me) you're only familiar with Finlandia. Read moreA worthwhile experience, but it needs a spot of curatorial TLC. As others have noted, the information about Sibelius himself is not exhaustive and I would have expected it to be in a museum dedicated to him. I appreciated the information on his contemporaries, but it needs to be in the context of their influence/impact on Sibelius.
The interps panels are great, but sadly those in the performance space had no English. And the interps for the instruments in the basements is minimal (and thus disappointing).

Read moreVisited it on Aug 7, 2022. It is rather small building, includes a square hall surrounded by 4 corridors for exhibition. The exhibition was rather limited. All the interesting photos you seen by other reviews (heart violin, all flutes, round shaped harp?) was not shown there. The ticket man replied that they have exchanged for other items but nothing more shown. They merely have a small floor downstairs with a variety of old pianos. Not recommended considering the 7€ price, many better...
