Hôtel le Home — Hotel in Beaune

Found the hotel by chance and we used this as a stop over from the South of France. We dod not want to use a faceless chain and opted for a more traditional style and “boy” we could not have been more impressed. ||The hotel is just beautiful and certainly wowed me with its rustic charm. The bed was so comfortable and the linen beautiful, our room was in one of the our buildings and was large. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will be making sure I visit again next year. The hostess was enchanting and so so lovely, interesting, informative and genuinely made our stay perfect.||Breakfast was a nice simple breakfast but filling and beyond good value for money, the host even let our kids eat for free! ||I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.||Beaune is also beautiful and we will be back to enjoy the foods and wines again next year. ||The picture is of our room, we had our own entrance. ||||Of you want to experience beautiful simple French life, this is the...

We spent one night in Beaune on our recent visit to the wealthy wine region of Burgundy. It was a rather busy May weekend, and the accommodations were arranged late so space was at a premium. We found accommodation at this funky old hotel a few blocks from the Beaune main square. It is right next door to another, very similar older hotel in an area of older houses on a mostly local-retail street. Nothing fancy, but it was quite clean, quiet and the rooms were spacious. Baths were older, but everything worked fine...except the WiFi, which kept cutting out. My room was the very one already pictured on TA...the one with the blue print tapestry covering all the walls and ceiling. A very funky touch! Like most small hotels/B&Bs in France, the room came with a continental breakfast which was awesome (see pic) and served out in the garden. Nope, nope,nope, don't do it. |Looks exactly like pictures, only 15 unmaintained years later. |Imagine: 11:30 on Sunday night trying to sleep in our 2nd floor room. Loud pounding music from below. Strong base. Wedding? Bar? No just the host family, in their 60's, enjoying some family time in the super-smoke-filled kitchen. I complain (and I never complain in a hotel, figure it will work out usually).| "We will cut music! "|Okay, back to the room, music is a bit lower. Then louder. Much louder. Past midnight. Up, down, off, over and over and over again until past one a.m.|Obviously intentional.|Not to mention that strong smoke smell.|We left the next day despite a 6-day reservation.||Ah yes,...
