Burgundy Discovery — Local services in Beaune

My wife and I enjoyed the Gourmet Grand Premier Wine Tour in May 2023 with two friends and we all agreed that it was one of our best holiday experiences. Whilst this is an expensive experience we were persuaded by the itinerary and the overwhelmingly positive reviews on the Burgundy Discovery website and we were not disappointed in any way and the day exceeded our expectations. From our first enquiry and throughout the booking process Robert was very attentive answering our questions and explaining the format of the day. Our tour was conducted by Joy who was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and she collected us on time from our hotel and made the day thoroughly enjoyable with her relaxed and informative style. Joy took us to two producers and a distributor and the cellar experience at all three was amazing. we tasted a wide range of wines and Joy clearly commanded great respect from those we visited. The tour included a bespoke lunch at a really beautiful 5 star hotel with fantastic wine included. Additionally, Joy provided lots of information on the Burgundy region and gave very helpful tips on things to do and see during the remainder of our visit. My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend the day with Patrick this past September. This was a perfect introduction to the geography, history, culture, and terroir of Burgundy. Patrick had an encyclopedic knowledge of producers, crus (pointing out La Tâche, Richebourg, etc while outside our first stop in Vosne-Romanée). We visited two smaller, family run producers in addition to one larger producer. Each different but all outstanding. We purchased wine from each producer, and Patrick helped ensure all of our wines were picked up by their shipping partner (including a follow up email weeks after our tour to ensure there were no issues). The lunch in Levernois was exquisite. The day after our tour we cycled south of Beaune, and we were provided directions and an itinerary with suggestions of restaurants and producers to stop at. I cannot say enough about Patrick and Burgundy Discovery. We been on tours in Alsace/Bordeaux/Northern Rhone/Montalcino/Chianti/Rioja, and this was easily our best experience. Wow, where do I even begin?! Our private wine tasting with Burgundy Discovery was the most magical, fun, seamless, memorable and truly incredible experience. Not only was Stephen and his team attentive to my desires on where / what I wished to taste while in Burgundy, but they went out of their way to create the tasting tour of my dreams. My group, consisting of myself, my husband and another couple, truly enjoyed every second of our day - from the time in the car driving through the region and charming villages, to each tasting at the magnificent properties the team selected for us, and the beautiful lunch the team reserved for us in advance. Dylan was our driver and tour guide, and he truly made this experience better than we could have ever imagined.
