SUSHI KAI — Restaurant in Beaune

We just had a wonderful dinner here at sushi Kai.

I'm Asian so I get quite picky with Asian restaurants, we are so glad to have fund this little gem in Beaune. It is a little further out but we don't mind as we are away from the tourists, the food is wonderful and also reasonably priced.

There is also a beautiful secret Japanese garden at the back!

We had edamame and seaweed for starter, belly pork and chicken tonkatus for mains, matcha mochi ice-cream and panacotta for pudding.. Unfortunately no room in our belly for sake! 😭😂

The waiter and waitress are lovely, kind and polite. Also while we were there they also looked after a wonderfully sweet street cat, the story about the kitty is heart warming. ♥️😺

Great food, beautiful setting, lovely and kind hearted people. What more can you ask for?

Amazing dinner in Beaune. Best Japanese food I have had in a very long time. Everything delicious and perfect. From the sushi, to the unagi, to the chicken and seaweed salad everything was incredible. We also ordered vegetables and they were next level. The desserts were out of this world. The service was super super nice and friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself very Japanese and zen with a nice Japanese style garden. I also appreciated that the food was super fresh and made with love and also sourced from super high quality suppliers. Really recommend the place and I’ve been to Japan a few times and really enjoyed the quality - also after spending 1 week in France it was nice to have Asian...

Notre première avec ma femme au restaurant après une commande à emporter. Jolie restaurant une entrée pas comme les autres avec un petit couloir au bout du couloir un petit cocon vous êtes accueilli par la gérante du restaurant aimable et souriante. Nous prenons place, la serveuse nous donne les menus et cartes de vin serveuse un peut froide (pas de sourire) mais professionnel et poli a la prise de commande on à réussi à avoir un petit sourire. Entrée très bonne les sushis pas un bol de riz sous le poisson mais juste ce qu'il faut pour pouvoir apprécier le goût du poisson c'est vraiment agréable. Le boeuf d'une tendresse qui fond en bouche avec une sauce qui donne envie d'y retourner a chaque bouchée. Plat poulet karaage pour madame très bon pas sec ni gras avec des assaisonnements juste pour avoir chaque ingrédients en bouche. Le saumon comment dire indescriptiblement tendre cuisson parfaite rien à dire avec une petite sauce qui relève et accompagne le goût du poisson sans le dénaturé. Alors pour le dessert tiramisu au tea matcha je dirais..... Déroutant vraiment déroutant. On passe par le côté terreux, amer , herbacé pour la crème et sucré pour la glace . Si vous goûté juste la crème vous aurait pas le côté sucré ou trop sucré des tiramisu habituelle mais avec une bouché parfaite le dessert prend tout son sens et tout s'équilibre dans votre bouche je dirai juste merci pour cette découverte .
