Cottage Bergerac Dordogne: The GÎte Atelier — Hotel in Bergerac

A friend of mine who doesn't use google plus stayed here fairly recently and asked me to publish this review. It is a lovely gite with great character. The location is very convenient within easy walking distance of the old town centre and with shops including a small hypermarket style shop even closer. The owner is very friendly and was happy to speak English. The beds and furniture are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The showers work well although there isn't a bath. I would recommend against putting the glasses in the dishwasher because they break easily and are expensive if you do break them but the overall cost of a holiday here is still great value for money. The town is lovely and old fashioned in the heart of the wine growing area. I would recommend the local sweet wines if you have a sweet tooth. Seeing the vineyards both to the north and south of the town is definitely worthwhile and the local chateaus are a must see. There are also local markets on certain days of the week in Bergerac and some of the surrounding towns.
