A beautiful oasis of tranquility. A not very well publicised ( not even mentioned to us by the tourist information centre)museum/art gallery with free admission. We walked into the courtyard full of potted citrus trees(lemon, tangerine, orange) the air heavy with the scent of their blossom. We were welcomed most warmly by the lady on the front desk and given a brochure in English. We had a cold beer and some lovely ice cream from the very nice cafe.....yes it was a hot day! Again the welcome was most cordial. There was a menu with very reasonable prices. The patio overlooked the street below but we sat inside with a lovely cool breeze from the open doors. Une première partie nous présente de magnifiques sculptures de bronze puis nous montons à l'étage où nous est expliqué l'histoire de la ville de Bergerac de sa création à aujourd'hui. Très bien expliqué avec des minis films bien commenté (français ou anglais) , très ludique petits et grands y ont pris goût.
