ibis budget Carcassonne Aéroport — Hotel in Carcassonne

Stayed from 8 of june until 10 of june 2023. Finding the place was easy. After we had landed in Carcassonne airport we easily found our way to this hotel by using google maps, it location is great when you only plan to stay for 2 days since it lays close to the airport of Carcassonne.

The moment I wanted to check in they told me the airco was broken so I was a bit annoyed since it was 28 degrees outside. Anyway the staff at the reception was so friendly to take me to my room and let me see if it was ok for me the temperature. Happily my room was on the first floor and located on the north side.

The rooms are basicly okay for the price. Except some remarks: hair found at the bedpost, smashed dead flies still on the ceiling of the shower, and broken toilet roller. (see photos).

In the night they were apparantly streetracing..And since there was no airco i needed to leave the window open. So i was confronted with this all night.

Small compliment: when I decided to sit downstairs because of the heat and I asked if there was a possibility to get some coffee, the night guard was as friendly to give me one on the house.

Breakfast: paid 8 euro for dried out pain au chocolat and croissants..very basic breakfast! Not worth the price..Rather pay bit more for better quality. So didnt order the breakfast the next day.

All by all only 3 star review. But good...

When we arrived we were greeted by a rather unwelcoming member of staff (a young man with dark hair). He couldn't find us on the booking and my husband had to write down his name for the guy to find it! The young man didn't seem like wanted to be there as was reflected in his poor attitude when I dared to ask him for extra pillows (I had one very flat pillow in the room and struggle to sleep). He looked at me and tutted with great disdain and shook his head!! He also kept going outside to vape when he was the only staff there!! The room itself was quite nice, basic as you'd expect, however the top bunk over the double was an issue. The bed had not been made so my husband and son had to struggle to make it themselves, which is not good enough as it should be housekeeping's job! The location was good for the airport, but not so good for eating or having a drink anywhere. Could do with a pub/bar/restaurant and a shop nearby. The vending machine in the hotel didn't offer much of an alternative either, very poor snacks (just chocolate and drinks). They could do with offering drinks and hot snacks at the bar seeing as you're captive there! A one night stay there is more than enough, make sure to stock up on snacks and drinks...

This was a very cheap hotel and looked it. ||||We had the smallest room ever with nowhere to put luggage. The bunk bed for a (very small) 3rd person was right over the double bed so very claustrophobic. No option for just 2 in a room. ||||Only 2 sockets in the whole room, bedside light only on 1 side. ||||The shower was broken so you had to hold it with one hand whilst trying to wash yourself with the other. We mentioned this on leaving and were told “Yes, we know. We’re fixing it soon!” So they put us in a room knowing there was a broken shower, when the hotel wasn’t at all full, judging by spaces in the car park. ||||The corridors were filthy and hadn’t been swept or vacuumed for a very long time. ||||Pluses were good wi-fi and free parking, but that was it. ||||Breakfast was ok but they had no plates – “we...
