Hôtel Mercure Clermont Ferrand Centre Jaude — Hotel in Clermont-Ferrand

I recently stayed at Mercure Hotel during my trip to France, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The incident that occurred during my stay has compelled me to share my feedback.

Upon entering the hotel, my wife and I were greeted by a friendly front desk staff. However, when I later visited the bar, I was subjected to an uncomfortable encounter. A staff member named Sebastian questioned whether I was a guest in a very authoritative manner, while another person at the bar was not asked the same question. This inconsistency in treatment raised concerns about fairness and made me question the application of their security policy.

While I appreciate the hotel's multicultural team and the emphasis on guest security, it is crucial for policies to be implemented consistently to avoid any perception of bias or unfair treatment. I expressed my concerns to the management, and while they provided some explanation, it did not fully address the issue at hand.

Furthermore, the hotel's response to my concerns was not satisfactory. They expressed regret for the situation but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation as to why I was singled out while the other individual at the bar was not questioned.

Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed and has influenced my perception of the hotel. I believe it is important for potential guests to be aware of this incident and the inconsistent treatment I encountered.

Overall, I cannot recommend Mercure Hotel based on my experience. I hope that the management will take this feedback seriously and work towards ensuring consistent and fair treatment of all guests in the future.

I had the most enjoyable 8 night stay at the Mercure in Clermont-Ferrand. My room had a very nice modern feel, and overlooked the Place de Jaude. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff asked me ahead of time if there was anything extra they could do for me. I explained to them I was traveling overnight to France from the states, and inquired if I could have a room available when I arrived. They said they would do the best they could, and when I arrived they had my room immediately available. After traveling 18 hours, and 3 flights later, having a room immediately available was the best feeling ever. The front desk staff were polite, and friendly. They explained how everything works at the hotel, and asked me to call the front desk should I need anything. Being from the states, safety is always a major concern for me. The front desk explained to me that no one can get to my floor without a room key, which you also need for the elevator to get to the floor your room is on. I felt very safe at this hotel. Breakfast, which was included in my stay, was amazing. Every breakfast item you can imagine, they had there. They had so many different types of coffee, and tea; it was unbelievable. The staff in the breakfast room were very polite, and eager to help you in any way. The breakfast room was very large, with plenty of tables, and comfortable seating, with a very inviting atmosphere. I looked forward to having breakfast there every morning. On my last day, the front desk staff had a taxi waiting for me at 5:30 am, very early in the morning, to take me to the airport.
