Solo skiing trip in March 2025 for one week, booked through Sunweb. Hotel Jam Session is situated in the Village 1800 area of Les Deux Alps so a short walk, shuttle bus ride or brief ski down into the town centre. Village 1800 has all its owns bars and amenities though and is much quieter than the town centre accomodations which suited me. Les Deux Alps is a small resort so everywhere is very easily accessible. Check in is straightforward, staff were expecting me and were keeping a look out. Staff extremely knowledgeable about the local area, ski hire and lift network. Room very basic and desperately in need of refurbishment however was clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. Basic daily clean and fresh towels provided (I would bring my own towel if I visited again as they were tiny). Boot room adequate, although I would recommend taking your boots to your room each evening as they won't fully dry. Hotel Jam Session is basically next to the Village 1800 lift (one minute walk) which will take you up to 2200m where you can lift hop to the summit or ski back down to 1650m and catch the Jandri right to the top. Hotel Jam Session has a green run basically outside the front door that you can use to ski straight down to the Jandri and other lifts or down to the Cote lift where you can access the Vallee Blanche area of the resort (in my opinion, Hotel Jam Session is all bit ski in/ski out). Hotel Jam Session is Italian run and this is reflected in the food. I was half board. Simple continental style buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs. Evening meal was a salad bar/buffet, pasta, risotto or soup course, main course and dessert. Food simple but tasty, lots of people seem to be complaining about the quality and portion size but I felt it was adequate for the rating of the hotel. I don't have any dietary requirements. The staff tend to sit single people all together on the same table at dinner which I had no issue with as I love to chat and meet new people - I even met a few people to ski with on a couple of the days and had a heavy night out of apres ski with another which was fun. The bar is open from 16:00 daily. Free bar snacks provided which is a nice touch. Expert barman who is happy to make any drink or cocktail you fancy. WiFi is free and a bit patchy but on the whole worked fine. Was much more reliable in communal areas than in my room. Room was equipped with a smart TV which I was able to connect to the WiFi and access Netflix/Prime Video etc without any issue. Hotel Jam Session is by no means luxury but I was aware from reading other reviews and it's two star rating exactly what to expect. I'm out skiing for eight hours a day so as long as I have somewhere to shower and get my head down I'm not bothered. Hotel Jam Session's awesome staff and location on the resort are the main things it has going for it! I had a fantastic stay and I wouldn't hesitate staying there again if I ever return to Les Deux Alps. Would be a five star rating but like I said, the hotel desperately needs a refurb and modernisation. Thanks for a...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Hotel JAM Session and had an amazing experience. Yes, it’s a budget hotel, but I don’t understand how some people expect 5-star luxury at budget prices! While the decor may be a little dated, the hotel is spotlessly clean, with daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and even neatly folded clothes left on the bed—small touches that make a big difference.||Food:|Breakfast is simple but perfectly adequate to fuel a day on the slopes. Dinner is a 4-course meal, including a buffet-style salad, pasta or soup, a main (typically meat with vegetables), and dessert. The portions aren’t massive, but they’re more than satisfying. Pedro, our waiter, was fantastic—so kind and helpful, truly a credit to the hotel!||Location & Skiing:|The location couldn’t be better! The ski lifts are just a stone’s throw away, giving easy access to both mountains. We traveled with Sunweb (4 adults, 4 children), and our ski passes were included in the price, making this the most cost-effective way to ski.||The boot room is great touch! We had no problems.||Service & Atmosphere:|After skiing, we loved stopping by the bar for drinks, where we were served complimentary snacks—a lovely touch. The barman was incredibly attentive, as were all the hotel staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.||If you’re looking for a great-value ski hotel with excellent service, cleanliness, and a prime location, Hotel JAM Session is a fantastic choice. We wouldn’t hesitate to...
Read moreHonestly- a bit dark and I was worried on arrival- low lights and a bit chilly but - the holiday was so affordable’ and what they lacked in luxury they made up for in care and warmth. I just needed to ask for the heating to be put up and it was done. This is a no frills place but was quiet and clean and the beds were SO comfortable. The staff take such pride in their roles - Great food and Carmello and the restaurant team went to great lengths to accommodate our wide ranging tastes on the half board menu. So much food! Alex the barman was awesome and so much fun - completely taking it all in his stride when an impromptu dance party broke out in his bar. (Delicious nibbles served with drink every evening). Sarah and Miguel on reception looked after all our requests and were really happy to chat and recommend.||If you want 5* luxury don’t go here but if you want a really great hotel in a fab location - that almost feels like you’re staying at a friend’s house - with a regular free shuttle to town and a ski lift extremely close by (ski in when there’s more snow), then this is an awesome option for the budget conscious traveller. I got lucky with a ground floor room but note you will have to carry everything upstairs if you’re in a higher level room as there are no lifts in the hotel.||Thanks to the awesome team for a great stay and great service all round. We had a...
