Noisy le grand ECLA or the worst life experience as I would recall it.
Read this comment carefully especially if you are a student.
I booked a room for my Erasmus stay in Paris at ECLA in Noisy le grand which was one of my worst experience in life!
I booked a room in a shared apartment at the beginning of September, where they had “a special offer” for 750€ per month. I called them and they told me I have to book immediately if I want this price. When I moved in I found out that my roommate got the room two weeks later for the price 600€, but I still had to pay the 750€.
I told them about my arrival two weeks in advance and asked for a pillow and a blanket. I arrived in Paris after a whole day and night of travelling so I was very exhausted, coming to ECLA and wanting immediately to go to bed. But I found out they have no pillow nor a blanket for me, so I had to lay on the bed and sleep without both. I eventually got them later….
One BIG issue with ECLA is that you can hear everything and the bathroom if you flush is as loud as on the plane, also the shower and if you clean the dishes in the kitchen you can hear the same loud sound, especially, cause you can hear this noise from other rooms even in the night, which does wake you up. So in fact Noisy le Grand is quite noisy.
The other very BIG issue is the smell in the rooms. There are these big vents in the rooms where all the smell comes in and you get cooking from the whole floor or I even got smoke as somebody was smoking probably inside the building. So when I cleaned my clothes for 4,50€(that’s their price) they were again smelling from the scent that was coming into my room. I discussed about this problem with a lot of the staff even wrote mails, but they refused to help! I wanted to change rooms, but they didn’t do it, their advice was to open the window in the middle of the winter.
Also the beds are next to the window, where you could feel the wind coming trough as the windows were not that good, so I felt sick most of the time there.
I once forgot the keycard in my room, as I went to the bathroom so I could not get into the room (you can only get into the room with this key if it’s closed) , so I get the help from the security guy who basically came with me and opened my doors and charged me for 5€.
The only good thing about this is you can cancel your contract if you give a 1 month notice in advance.
So please be sure to not...
Read moreEcla is one of the biggest scams of all. First of all, some of their employees lack of credibility, communication and integrity.
I am an exchange student who is looking for a room for 3 months. Nicole, their employee confirmed the dates from September to December for a room in a shared apartment 770€/month. SHE CONFIRMED the dates and price, I PAID everything and waited for the contract.
While I needed to pay the GarantMe fee, they told me that my rent is 870€ for 4 months. I sent multiple emails about the fact that my rent is 770€ as discussed. Ignored until today when I called and she told me ‘Yeah, i see I will send you an email’. She sent me an email with exact same dates that say I have to pay more than 3000€ in one transaction and my rent is almost double for 3 months. I called everyone from Ecla, tried to reach for 15 minutes until someone finally responded. I sent multiple emails to Nicole showing her mistake and her response was ‘I already made a mistake by ending your contract on December 15th because if I take that into account, I'll have to have you sign a 1-to-3 contract, and you'll have to pay the full fees before you start’.
They are trying to scam!!!! They look at your guarantor’s money and just play with your as they wish. Do not try! I canceled my room for that stay and I am waiting for my money back and of course a lawyer will take action if they won’t give me my money back.
Despite the horrible reviews, I went to my risk and some employee’s communication is terrible. They are trying to scam with more and more money by changing the contract without your consent.
If my contract would have been for 4 months and no one would have told me, but I would leave in December, my money would be gone anyway as they would not notify you!
I WANT...

Negative aspects: dangerous neighborhood lots of mouses near the residence (and even inside) quite expensive (1200 euros for a 23m room) stuff are nice but not helpful, they respond very late to your requests almost no service during the weekend, we hadn't had water in our room for two days and they didn't do anything till Monday Say goodbye to your security deposit, you will never see it again (they don't even answer to you, it's been 3 months since I left and haven't received a single response to my emails - I can show my email history as a proof!) washing machines don't work well and dryers don't work at all if you are on the first 3 floors it can get very noisy, no matter on which side you are. Either because of people gathering around in the front yard, or super noisy vehicles that bring products to carrefour. There were some reports about robbery in other rooms, but not ours the front door is quite unsupervised, anyone can come in. there is always a group of drug addicts in front of the residence (on the way to the...
