Auberge De Jeunesse — Hotel in Lille

Close to a subway station, this hostel has good facilities. Points with room for improvements : the rooms are basic but you will find everything you need. The kitchen allows you to cook but no oven if available and the names of people who the food belong to is not written on them. Very good points : the breakfast that is included offers a quite wide range of food, cold and beverages choices. Thus, a restaurant, l'aubergeoise, is open for lunch. Social events such as dancing classes take place at this hostel as well. Last but not least, not for profit associations within the social and environmental sectors have their offices there, offering a wide choice of cultural events. Nonetheless, leave the room at 10 am sharp. If you ever need a quiet place after that time ask beforehand for a place to attend your online meeting in order to avoid any unecessary complications and misunderstanding. Stayed here for one night on an educational trip, and I was expecting it to be worse than it was. However, this place is actually alright! Here are some pros and cons:

Pros: Breakfast was very nice! -The common areas were very stylish, comfortable and chic Staff were friendly They were eco-conscious The pillow was good, and the blanket was warm -The lockers were decent Cons: There was no toilet in the room, just a shower that wasn't working properly -There was no hand soap in the room, and floor 3's toilets had no sinks. The walls were painted a rather neon orange colour, and it felt slightly prison like There were a few stray strands of hair around the room. But they weren't out to get us, so it was fine -The lights looked like CCTV cameras, slightly strange design choice! A few odd stains could be found on the mattresses.

An excellent address for people who want to visit Lille. It is located less than a mile a way from the station. And it’s easy to get to sights. The hostel is very clean and the service is great. A good place ran by friendly people. The breakfast is amazing by hostel standards as you get bread, cheese, ham, olives, yoghurt, cereals, hot drink and orange juice. There are also some community activities/workshops going on, but haven’t...
