The Best Western Hotel D’Arc in Orléans, France is a terrible option for many reasons but the main one is that our property was stolen and, after almost a week, the Hotel has done nothing to help us or compensate us. ||I booked a room there because my husband and I were very tired after traveling all day, Expedia said it had parking and I also saw that it was 4-star hotel (sounded like the option we needed). The first surprise is that it did not have parking: the receptionist tells you where to park but you have to pay the overnight city-run parking yourself. (10 euros more).||The 4-star rating is absurd. The rooms are quite small, the doors to the bathrooms are not proper doors, the AC does not work, they have a lobby coffee machine that does not work, and we were given a room which had a shower with a clogged drain and no soap. We asked them to move us to another room. They gave us the room next door, which at least had a functioning shower and soap.||When we left our room on the next day to have breakfast, our computer was stolen. I had it in my backpack, which I left in the room. The “do not disturb” sign hanged from our door. The thief entered the room, nevertheless, opened the backpack, stole the computer and its charging cord, and left the rest of the backpack intact. We realized our property had been stolen until we had left Oléans, and reached Paris. I immediately notified the BW Hotel D’Arc by phone. I called again the next morning, and the next… I have emailed them too. I even emailed BW France’s costumer service. So far, they have not done anything to help us, support us, or compensate us. In sum, a TERRIBLE experience. Avoid this hotel for your comfort, piece of mind, and the safety of...
Read moreDON’T STAY IN THIS HOTEL. My personal computer was stolen from our room and the hotel is not offering any support. Full story: We stayed for one night, Saturday to Sunday in June 2024. I chose the hotel because its 4-star rating and because Expedia said it had parking. The first surprise is that the hotel DOES NOT HAVE PARKING, so the receptionists sends you to a city parking facility that you have to pay on your own. The 4-star rating is an overstatement. The hotel is old and needs renovations. The standard room we were given did not have soap and the shower’s drain was clogged. We asked for a change of room. We were given the room next door. We went out of the room twice, that evening for dinner and the next morning for breakfast. While we were out somebody entered the room, opened my backpack and took out the computer and its charging cord. We did not realized we had been stolen because we did not open the backpack until we had left Orléans and were already in Paris. So far, I have called the reception three times to ask about my computer, all that they did is to give me their email. I wrote an email but two full working days later, no word from them. We booked the hotel because we wanted to rest after a long day but the standard rooms are very small. A coffee machine in the lobby does not work. In both rooms the AC did not work at all. Not confortable at all, and worst,...
Read moreLOCATION: Situated in the main street of Orléans, it was about 2 minutes walk from the station and about 10 minutes from many of the historic sights of the old town.||||ROOM: Large, comfortably furnished with a spacious bathroom that had plenty of space for one's own toiletries in addition to those provided. There were tea and coffee-making facilities plus a fridge. A table and chairs by the windows afforded a pleasant outlook over façades of the 19th century buildings in the main street with glimpses beyond. Laptop-sized safe.||||The cleaning was immaculate. Going past other rooms in the middle of the day before the check-in time, many doors were open as the carpets were shampooed when guests checked out so that like everything else, they were fresh and clean for new arrivals.||||BREAKFAST: A good selection including fresh fruit and cheeses for vegetarians (like me) plus eggs and an assortment of meats for those who are not. ||||SERVICE: A masterclass in hotel management led by Jonathan with all the staff from reception to housekeepers and breakfast staff welcoming and keen to be of service. ||||VALUE: The room rate was modest for the unbeatable 4 star...
