This was a lovely place to stay in Paris! The hotel and the location offered everything you needed as a traveller to make our stay comfortable, easy and very enjoyable. I appreciated the reasonable price for Paris and felt that we received a great value . What we loved:||||-The Location was ideal! Its right off the Place Nation metro station which is a hub station so you are steps away from any place in Paris. I cant tell you how convenient it is to access so many different metro lines without having to transfer, it made getting around the city so easy, this convenience is priceless!||Also, Place Nation has so many cafes and restaurants to choose from so you can grab a quick coffee, have a lovely meal or take in the ambiance and the Parisian cafe culture (we recommend DALOU) and the neighborhood always feels safe at any time of night or day. There was a small epicerie open late just around the corner if you needed to pick up any items, a pharmacy and the Printemps department store, so if you forgot anything or needed to do some quick shopping for a last minute rain coat or replacement walking shoes its all right there.||||-Breakfast is served every morning downstairs, unfortunately it was raining during our stay so we did not have the experience of the lovely courtyard where they normally serve but we ate inside which was just fine. It was really great to have breakfast available, especially the first morning when you wake up jet lagged and hungry and just want some coffee and a croissant right away. The other mornings we had breakfast at the cafes close by and there is also an amazing boulangerie along Place Nation we highly recommend! The wonderful smells from this bakery in the morning is just heaven.||||-Our room overlooked the small street in front and was really quaint. Considering we were close to Place Nation it was not noisy and we were really comfortable. The neighborhood was really great and I always felt safe walking the streets back to the hotel from the metro even when we returned late at night. ||||-The staff were always friendly and helpful, we had a really enjoyable stay!||||Things to keep in mind:||||-This is Europe so everything is a bit smaller than you might be used to, the room, the elevator the hallways, the bathroom...but that is just part of the experience and you should be ready to adjust your expectations accordingly while traveling in Europe. Our room was petite but clean and comfortable and had everything we needed!||||Merci for a...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience at the hotel - 99% of the staff were so kind and welcoming. However, my poor experience occurred as soon as I walked through the door and I checked in on Friday night (4 April), I was met with an unfriendly face (no smiles), he was sitting down when I walked in and he didn't even greet me. I greeted and I gave him my name and surname and he immediately "attacked" me by correcting the pronunciation of my surname which is pronounced correctly in English. However, he immediately corrected my surname and pronounced it in Portuguese and asked whether I was Portuguese. I explained that I was, but I was speaking to him in English, so I was pronouncing my surname in English. Again, he corrected my surname and we continued to have a slight argument as I didn't understand why he kept on correcting me as I had just arrived and I was a new guest. He proceeded to ask me in a very aggressive and arrogant way: "So, you don't want to speak Portuguese?" After a short argument again, I was eventually given my key but he treated me like utter rubbish.
Except for this situation, I loved staying at Agate Hotel, but my initial experience was unfortunately one that I will...

Best Agate team,
I have tried to reach out a couple of times, 3 to be exact. Nobody ever answered. First of all, thank you for that.
Second, when we arrived, what an unwarm welcome. No smiles, no info, more even, we felt a genuine: what the hell are you doing here -vibe. Thank you for that. We decided not to have breakfast in such a cold environment.
I have tried to reach you concerning an interview, or small talk as I was planning to review your place. Well, to make sure you are aware, I will review your hotel and it won't be great.
We only received a smile from a guy when we arrived around 11pm back in our hotel. he was the only friendly person
I will write an article, so don't be surprised that I talk about unfriendly reception, a boss that treats us like a school director and unwarming welcome in Paris.
I am very happy to know it can be better.
Good luck. You need a smile
It could make you all feel better.
Kind regards
Hope you...
