Chez Prosper — Restaurant in Paris

This spot is one of the main highlight of the French cuisine is in this square. The service is running all day long and prepare to queue to get a spot. While this spot is often crowded, it lives on its legacy of a great service with great food on display. It is sad to see how far it went down for most of its dishes. I admit that the home-made tirimasu is still on point but for the rest, the price still doesn't justify the food quality. It is fine at best! My take: Go and try for yourself but don't draw quick conclusions as best food in Paris. My note: the servers could be more friendly. Sure, the place is crowded and work is tough but being nice is always appreciated. No need to push potential customers, and a friendly reply to a simple question seems to be...

Really really poor service! while ago we were 'habitué' of this place and due to work and other we didn't manage to go there for a while. and after a year everything is worst.

first, they give us a place and then another waiter came and said that the place was saved for other people, we move gently. (they did same with two other table)

We order two salade and we got them fast! a bit too fast like the toast and the chicken k was just microwaved and trow them to the Plat. we ask three times to get water again another two times to get salad sauce and again for salt and pepper.

we waited 10 minutes to get desert card and left alone again for another 15 minutes.

Food was basic, portions are big. The tartare was huge (like 3-4 burgers), but who the hell eats so much raw meat? Put less but better quality meat. Fries were not salted and soggy. I asked the waitress to change them and they did right away. They came back a bit better but still with not much salt.

We also had lamb and it had the same problem - it wasn’t special. Big portion but meh and missing salt too.

If you wanna have a big portion meal go there. If you are looking for something a bit more refined probably go elsewhere. Anyway they are pretty busy so...
