During our stay at this hotel, we found the desk service to be exceptionally friendly. The staff greeted us warmly whenever we came and went, which made us feel welcome. It was also a bonus that the staff spoke multiple languages, enhancing our overall experience.
The room, although a bit small, served its purpose. However, there were some concerns regarding safety and comfort. The in-room safe, while functional, could be pulled out of the wall entirely, which defeated its purpose. Additionally, the window opened fully without any screens, posing a risk for accidents. The shower was extremely cramped, making it difficult to move around.
On a positive note, the hotel’s security measures were commendable. Access to the upper floors required a room key to use the elevator, which added a layer of safety.
Breakfast was priced at 13 Euros per person, which seemed steep given the availability of more affordable options at nearby cafes. There was also a fantastic food store just around the corner, which was very convenient.
Room service, unfortunately, was inconsistent and below expectations. On the first day, our towels were taken and not replaced, leaving us without any. We had to go downstairs to retrieve new towels but were not given a floor towel, making the bathroom hazardous. Our bed was left unmade, and the trash was not taken from either the bedroom or the bathroom. Additionally, we were not provided with new garbage bags. Room cleaning timings were erratic, ranging from late morning to late afternoon, and despite our request for privacy at 10 am, the staff still attempted to enter our room.
If you are a light sleeper, be aware that the hotel is located at a busy intersection with frequent ambulance sirens and street noise throughout the night. However, its proximity to the nearest station is a definite plus, making it easy to travel around the city.
Overall, while the hotel has some strong points, particularly in terms of staff friendliness and security, there are areas that need significant improvement, especially in room maintenance and service...
Read moreWe stayed for 7 nights recently. I booked this hotel 9 months prior to our trip and after the experience, I wish we had shortened our stay or found elsewhere. The positive things I can say is the location was great for connecting to the metro (although as we were on the 2nd floor we could hear/feel the metro every time it passed), there are decent places to eat nearby, and most of the staff were nice to deal with.
The things that went poorly.. as I mentioned we had booked the room far in advance, our confirmation stated breakfast was included. We arrived late the first night, we were exhausted and when she told us that is wasn't included, I was confused, upset and tired but dealt with it the next day. It was looked into and fixed for us, however it became an issue EVERY day but the last one. It hadn't been corrected on the document the restaurant had, one morning I think it was the restaurant manager was quite rude to us about it. It was extremely upsetting.
The other main issue we had.. I had 3 things I was looking for in a hotel in Paris, good location/connectivity, breakfast included and AIR-CONDITIONING. I did so as there was a heat wave the prior year and wanted to make sure we had it in case. As it turned out, there were several hot days while we were there, so much so that we needed it (and I heard multiple people complaining about it) and were told they weren't "turning it on yet as it wasn't hot enough". We couldn't open a window because we faced the front, smell people smoking, cars, emergency vehicles etc. We didn't sleep well most of the nights there. It would be exhausting for anyone, let alone someone like me who suffers from chronic pain and takes sleep medication which didn't help.
I really hope the hotel makes some adjustments to these issues to save other traveller's from having the same issue. Don't advertise something available for use when you choose when the...
Read moreOverall the Hotel is in a great location with several main metro lines and train lines within a 2-3 minute walk, so it is relatively easy to get to all the main historical sights. Though during our stay, the M14 subway line was closed Monday through Thursday between 10 pm and 6 am for maintenance which caused us some headaches when we were out late. When trying to get back, most of the time, we had to take a Uber or a Freenow to get back to the Hotel. Overall we got what we paid for and would probably choose the Hotel again the next time we visit Paris. For any Americans considering staying, the Hotel is extremely close to a pharmacy, a convenience store, a tobacco store, restaurants, bakeries, and a Burger King, all within a 5-minute or less walk.
I would have given the Hotel a 5-star rating except for the fact that we decided to extend our stay, something we did on the first day. The front desk clerk had us check out on our original checkout date so the Hotel could move us to another room, which wasn't that big of a deal due to the fact the room was nicer. The issue was our new room was right next to the counterweights for the elevator, and every time the elevator was being used, we would hear a near-constant squeaking. So imagine trying to get some sleep after being out sightseeing all day, and every 5 or 10 minutes, loud squeaking would fill the room with a slight vibration shaking the wall. When we were asked how the new room was, we brought up the noise issue, and they asked what room number we were when we told them, they asked if the room was at the end of the hall and in the corner. When we said yes, they gave us a look of like, "yea, sorry about that." We heard several other guests talking about the squeaking at breakfast, and I guess enough people complained that someone finally gave that squeaky wheel some much-needed...
